The church has an arguement going on with the council of Stuttgart about paying lots of cash for cleaning the quarters of three churches. it gets done by the council, it's very expensive and ....they still have to clean the places before their sunday services on their own. they're shouting - its not fair.

In the region around Stuttgart, if you rent an apartment in a house with different parties you are obliged to sweep the common floor in a regular turn. Formerly, the facility keeper fixed a sign on your door 'Kehrwoche' just before the week it was your turn. The Kehrwoche is legendary in Swabia (the area around Stuuttgart) because it is a ritual which shows how neat the Swabians are. Sometimes poeple make jokes about it (like Mick).

100 points for a perfect explanation of something nobody anywhere outside Swabia can get to terms with ... it took me ages to get the concept when i used to live in the Black Forest, and the locals where not very forgiving .... moody smiley

Thank you all for the reports and pics, os much appreciated. Was about either do Stuttgart or Marseille or even both, but unfortunately in the end my work would not allow a leave.... so this time, only Dublin for me .... Really hoe of for another tour nest year or 2020 ... but am having so much fun with all the reports from you members to at least give me a feeling to be part of it .. getting off my soap box now winking smiley
