So jusr comimg back from Les Goudes, the last little
seaside village in the end of the Marseiile
beach road. At the entrance of this nice
little port village is a resl Rock-Pub with
loud exellent Rock-music and a beautiful girl running
it. On the second look you see: the whole
place is full of tiny little Stones devices.
A pic of Mick here, a minituare model
of Charlies drumset there, the tongue on
the backwall etc.
This wonderful female boss saw immidietly
my PIT A wristband on my right arm.
Which I won'r turn off before the end of the
tour. She showed me her tickets, with tears
in her eyes cause she and here husband
could'nt go due to private reasons.
BUT: YESTERDAY NIGHT THE STONES CAME TO
HER VILLAGE. KEITH AND RONNIE AND A LITTLE
ENTOURAGE OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS HAS DINNER
IN THE RESTAURANT NEXT TO HER PLACE.
The owner appeared in the door of her
huge Rock-Pub, runung over to her, whipering
out of breath: The Stones are in my
restaurant!!!
So she went there, and instead of seaing
the weaving masters K&R with 60.000 saw
them in thst nice little fish restaurant
of her friend. Did Keith and Ronnie came
to her place after Dinner.
No. They took a boat back to Marseille.
But Keith stood up and took her in his
arms. Told her some really nice things and
she stumbled back to work,unabke to work
further. But she did.
Great girl, great couplev, fantastic cool
rocking place.
If some of you are stiil around
Marseille area, just go there and
enjoy

I mentioned this on another thread but no reaction, if you look at Keith's fingers on this HTW clip, its clear to see his fingers are much better.
How are they better ? i don't know but it explains why he is playing much better.

First and last concert of the 2018 No Filter tour.

Sad I didn't make it to the UK, but I love Marseille. I mean, in how many other places in the world can you waist your pre concert time in a bathing suit, swimming in south France sea, drinking great whine, and all this at less than five hours drive from Milano?

First time in the Pit (thanks to two very kind IORRers!). Pit was packed!

Another great concert. No matter how used to it you might be, no matter the stale set list, it is still amazing to witness in person what these guys are doing.

Great audience (average age was quite low). God save general admission concerts!

Band was tighter than Lucca and Paris 2 - 2017, much tighter, but also more "professional", slightly less spontaneous or loose (reason why I preferred Lucca and Paris).

I have the feeling that there are less horns in the arrangements compared to last year. I don't miss them.

Keith really focused and inspired. Ronnie solid but slightly less inspired than usual. Charlie seemed very serious.

Mick, well, Mick! He can't be real, can he? This 74 years young man is just incredible. A force of nature. Wouldn't be surprised if the real Mick is hidden backstage, and what we see on stage is a lip-sincing performer with a Mick-mask-

Rest of the band, good as usual save Chuck. Might not be a politically correct remark, but while most of the time he does a good job when he plays, his occasional plink-plonkish solos on the fast rockers hurt my ears.

I guess I shouldn't complain for the set list, because I got my first Fool to Cry ever (beautifully performed, by the way), which is an event nowadays.

Yet I am convinced that they could (and should) try to do something to differentiate the various shows a little more.

I don't understand your comments, its a very valid subject in relation to the close up of Keith playing in your post.
Keith is playing better than in many many years and his fingers look much better.
Can't believe this is not the place to discuss.

I know some forms of arthritis are made worse with excessive alcohol consumption, with Keith clearly sober since Christmas, this could be something that as helped with the arthritis in his hands and fingers.
