Oh well, it was nice while it lasted - and this is a young team from whom nothing much was expected. They've got lots of time to grow yet.

Could have gone either way this. Albeit Croatia is a worthy winner. A rough team with a bad attitude though. I hope France wins in the final now. I feel sorry for England. They had such hopes on this team.

During the 1st half, England was superior and I really thought that they would win.
When Croatia scored their first goal, then, things changed. They speeded the game up and England started to get tired, they couldn't compete any longer.

I knew we were doomed when I saw the Jagger clan in the stadium .
( but sadly Croatia were in the end the better team )

He's got to stop turning up at these games

Hate to say it but Croatia deserved to get through to the Final.

England just not good enough after the first half.

All this stuff in the press about Mick being at the game, giving the Team support and they end up losing is just utter rubbish.


Just something to fill a few lines in The Sun and The Mail, and other such rags.


Keep on supporting them Mick and they will be fine.


Will be the first time I will have any interest in the 3rd and 4th place playoff, seeing as England are playing Belgium ...............and England will win this one I'm sure.

Will regain a bit of pride for them.

Never really followed the World Cup much before, but hard not to get caught up after catching the excitement of the fans watching the game in a pub in Twickenham.
Add in the fact that the band was so into it, and having had such a great time there, hard not to get caught up after that.

Should know better than to mix the Stones and sports...

croatia deserved to win, wasnt a match of high quality and englands inexperience shown through.

england in the end have too many players who cant link up quick enough, sterling is a weak spot for me especially, constantly giving the ball away and making wrong decisions, i dont rate rashford either.

its been an interesting world cup but it has lacked quality in attacking play.

England looked very stable until the Croatian goal came (on a very high foot kick). Then they kind of lost momentum. And in extra time (2x15) they looked very sluggish and tired. So, in the end Croatia deserved the win. Seems like England's side of the draw has been the weaker side. Both France and Belgium are better teams than England and Croatia. Anyway, I hope England goes for the bronze in the loser's game. To win a bronze was a huge thing was a huge thing for a small nation like Sweden back in 1994. People still talks about the summer of 1994 here...

Harry Kane had a golden opportunity to score and make it 2-0 for England. I can't believe he missed it. He hit the post instead...

Trippier's free-kick was a beauty. But not the only one in this World Cup. These kind of goals are more common now than what they used to be. In the old days only Beckham could twist them like that...

I don't believe Croatia played a better game, particularly; but they scored a goal more than England, so I suppose I don't begrudge them making the final. I won't be watching the final or this silly third-place decider, though. The World Cup is over for all English people.

Thought Croatia's first goal should have been disallowed, very high kick near heads in the penalty area, referee decisions all went Croatia's way after the second half.
Gutted but hope Croatia go on to win it now.
