Congrats Resotele. 7 fresh points and you're in the lead! Sometimes it pays off to go against the grain.

Shocking goal for Poland to give away.

I've got my 2006 Netherlands polo on, I've also got two for South Korea, I got them right after the '06 World Cup... they were priced down for clearance (and got a Portugal jacket as well).... I've got a minor collection of shirts, etc. for international football.

And we have had a happy time doing that since c.2010. Why the change now?

Re: OT: The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia
Date: June 19, 2018 23:43

Hm, and what would be different in this thread? The competition (solely between IORRers) is still running. Are we not allowed discussing the results here?

A bad day for me in the prediction game, btw sad smiley

Really not good news. How many IORR members have fun discussing the games. A new low point.

Can't we just go on? Just a new thread title. Bad day for me too. One point on three games. Resotele in the lead now.

From what I could understand, the only issue was that there was some undesired traffic to the predictions' website. Since those who were willing to participate have already joined in, I don't see any trouble in commenting the predictions on this thread.

Exactly. If anything the bi-annual football game brought IORR people together and forged friendships. It was something made IORR an even more fun site.

Don't worry, Dagger. We'll just carry on as usual. Until further notice, at least.

Maybe this one is more all-inclusive while that one was geared towards the mini-league. I think it's fair enough to open up discussion for all.

It is relatively easy to guess a winner but the actual score is hard to figure out. I looked up the big leagues' rankings and the ones in the lead are with 35 points; impressive(I only have 10!!!) It is fun to participate .

How is it any different than clicking on an embedded link to a news story, or even to YouTube for a video in someones post???

This time I can't understand bv, but it's his site, so it's his choice.

Back to the World Cup :

Today it seems easy to predict the winners, Portugal (vs Morocco), Uruguay (vs Saudi Arabia) and Spain (vs Iran) should all win quite easily. But by what scores ? Or will there be a big surprise ? Today I opt for no surprise (beside one of the underdogs scoring a goal ...)

Have fun

In general, this is true - but specifically, we don't know what this mini league link generates/-ed directly and/or indirectly. Being the web manager, bv clearly dóes. So I'm sure he had good reasons to close it nów.
As stated by others, there's been the same mini league thread/-s amongst IORRians over here since 8 years now; ànd not that long ango, bv himself contributed to the (now closed) 'prediction' thread.
So obviously (imo), something has changed (quasi) 'overnight'...

Anyway: back to the World Cup - smoking smiley

Ronaldo-Morocco 1-0. Ronaldo is the best team so far...

Re: OT: The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia

ofcourse ronaldo does all of portugals defending by himself.

as for this world cup, most games seem to follow the same pattern, 1st team to score usually wins. attacking side usually fail to score when they try, defending team usually soaks up opposition attack when they want to.

its all so boring, few teams have impressed as an attacking side.

spain, mexico, russia maybe, not much else.

this world cup had better open up, or it will become a defensive drab.

its been mediocre compared to 4 year ago.
