Bruce has picked up the pace on releasing archive shows over the last year or so. It seems like there's a new old live show every month or so. And they're aces, and not obvious choices. The last one was a solo show from his old Catholic school from '96; next up is the first complete River show from 2009.

And, of course, Some Girls came out 40 years ago this month and Miss You (ugh, disco) was already moving up the pop charts. Both albums were the soundtrack of Summer '78. I was 24, living on US East Coast, and also starting to dig the Ramones and what followed in the punk New Wave front. I grew up in great time to be rock fan. Saw Stones, Bruce and the Who that Summer.
