Thank you England for the the English language.9

Thank you England for reluctantly giving us America where I live. When I was in grade school we got lots of English history. You would think we were still a colony.

Fawlty Towers, Tommy Cooper, Roan Atkinson , the Rolling Stones , John McLaughlin , Jeff Beck, Allan Holdsworth, Kate Bush, Judy Tzuke and the invasion in 1944. thumbs up

1944 ranks first. Men died in foreign countries to get rid of @#$%& and the Nazis. All The Stones are little skinny guys due to post war war rationing which went on until ...what...1952?

You are all most welcome....we're a funny bunch us English, but after reading all those lists above, I am reminded of our influences in all matters. Did anyone mention tea? If not, never forget a cup of tea....if you want to make a perfect one.....and for this I am not suggesting the old skool way of tea leaves in a tea pot, but the modern method. Tea bag in cup (before water) boiling water poured on, then stirred and left for 3 minutes, before adding skimmed milk. Enjoy with a good quality biscuit such as a chocolate digestive or Hob nob. This will solve most problems.

Tea has become too prissy for most Americans, especially men. Coffee is the drink of choice.

Two just off the top of my head are ,

The World Cup Football/Soccer 1966 Campaign, and Winners at the old Wembley Stadium.

Nothing in English football compares to that.

The Rolling Stones who were just in about 2nd gear back then to become the greatest band in the world.

I was 14 back then but great memories of both.

Lots more to thank England for but these two stand out for me. thumbs up
