Just had an email about LDs from AXS (edited, relevant bits below)

You must pick up your tickets in person, from Box Office B along with your guest. Box Office B is open from 1PM
We advise you arrive early, between 1PM and 3PM, to collect your tickets
Picture ID, your confirmation number, and the credit card used to make the purchase are required for pick-up. Without these things, you will not be able to pick up your tickets.
If we suspect any reselling or transfer of these tickets they will be immediately voided and you will not be entitled to any refund.

Box Office B is located at the south end of the South Lawn.

If walking away from the stadium, walk over bridge 5 and turn right before the ArcelorMittal Orbit. If walking from Westfield, turn left before crossing bridge 1 and continue past the Orbit keeping the City Mill river on your right.

I thought 9am seemed optimistic!

Does anyone know where you wait?? I'm assuming any bridge is okay? Nothing on the tickets to suggest otherwise???

8:30 so that’ll be 19 songs again.
And the song they’ll skip was the highlight of the previous leg.
Weird.

No guarantee it's a 10.30 curfew is there? Maybe they'll play til 11 and we'll get 4 extra songs. Ok, maybe not, but it could be 10.45.

(I'm presuming 10.30 end at Dublin was part of the license conditions, but I haven't seen it confirmed anywhere).

The brits have always been touchy with curfews especially for open air shows.

Hyde Park 2013 shows ended at 10:30 PM
The Stones played 2 full hours and nobody complained

In Wembley in 1999 it was 10:30 also.
In 2003 it was 10:30 at Twickenham

They are free to take the stage 10 minutes earlier if they wish to play more...

They are also free to shorten some songs.
They can easily play one or two extra.

I believe the 10.30 curfew has applied to all outdoor concerts in Greater London for several decades. At Sheffield ‘95, they played from 9.35 to 11.45. That stadium has since gone but it was on the edge of Sheffield as far as I remember.

There could well be a 10.30 curfew in other U.K. cities too. The Coventry Ricoh Arena is out of town so that MIGHT be a bit more relaxed.

Okay then we can only hope for an early start today.

Ricoh Arena had a 23:15 curfew for an MTV multi artist show which was on a Saturday night a couple of years back.

Other artists like Rihanna and Bruce Springsteen have generally had a curfew at 10.30 - the Stones are playing a Saturday so perhaps scope for a later show there but not guaranteed

I'll be interested to hear if Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs will be playing with Liam Gallagher tonight. Should be a good opening act.

They also do this for most shows at a The 02 Arena.
Perhaps it's someone's job at London Underground.

it's a London Transport thing that started in the wake of the 7/7 terrorist atrocities on the network.

About the London curfew at 10:30pm...

There was always a 10:30pm curfew when The Rolling Stones used to performe at Webmley Stadium. Twelve times in total since 1982. Every show used to start 8:25pm and finished 10:30pm sharp in time for the curfew. I think may be one time they did an extra minute or two, with the result a big fine. Also, I do believe the police pulled the (power) plug on some major act some years ago at Hyde Park, when they tyried to break the curfew.

Even if we do love rock music, others who live in a big city might have their own life. If there were no limits then there would be music and noise for them all night, and the more late hours people drink, the less sleep the locals will get. I don't mind heading home at 10:30, as long as they have been performing a great show for a couple of hours.

Also, keep in mind the fact that it isn't the actual show that is the problem, but all the stuff that hapens after the show is over at 10:30. First everyone of the 70,000 or so people will leave, with noise. Then the trucks will work and get the equipment out of the stadium. It will take hours, probably most of the night. Imagine you had a large stadium on your doorstep, then I am sure you would be happy about having a reasonable curfew.

So the only option would be an early start, 8:15 or so, but that would be before last entry which could leave some people angry who are late.

If London gigs finish at 2230, I have a reasonable chance of catching the last train home. If they finished later, I might not be able to afford to go to many as I would need to pay for accommodation.

As it is, I can't go to gigs in various places that are only 50 to 80 miles away because the last trains are too early.

There must be lots of people in a similar position.

most people.
It's just a select few Stones tourists who fail to see the bigger picture.

Your speech is shareable, the problem in my opinion is the place where they build the stadiums, should never be in the city center or in the vicinity of housing, there is no need to be a genius to understand it. For this reason, when I see new stadiums or even the renovation of these stadiums it would be useful to consider alternative places. It is indecent that in 2018 a rock concert has a curfew at 10.30pm.
