A friend has asked because he’s heard DJs play it twice now & comment on it being the Chess version sounded great & he wanted to know what release they’re using, I’m away from my PC so I can’t see if I have it somewhere on my HD,

I've never heard the Chess version before. I wonder if your friend is hearing the wide stereo version that was found on the original London West German Hot Rocks CD from 85?

really ? I think maybe most dudes on this site have other things to think about...… as in hey , they are playing mate. as in now. but maybe that's just me... size the moment , seize the day.. HST....

This Clip is it used as a backing track but I don’t think this is what a DJ would play on Air & again he heard Brian’s Harmonica playing,

Chess version had most likely been lost .... but we can all still live in hope...

The folks at Chess would have been practical enough to re-use the tape once the Stones announced they would be going out to LA to re-cut the track.

No sense in keeping around a demo that was never going to be of any use.

Besides, they probably didn't have a fuzz box at Chess.

In that YouTube clip posted above, Brian's harmonica playing is live, which is why you can only hear part of what he's playing -- it can only be heard when he's near enough to Mick's live mic.

The backing track heard in that clip would have been pre-recorded days earlier in a location near the TV studio where Shindig was videotaped.

Not lost, but most likely erased.

The harmonica is on the backing track. You don't hear Brian playing live.

Harmonica notes are heard before he is shown actually 'playing' it.

still not as tragic as RCA dumping thousands of hours of masters into the Camden River when they closed the New Jersey plant. I have understood that's why no proper remastering of Elvis' Second album can be done, is because the masters were destroyed.
