Limewire is decent! I dont trust Kazaa, kept getting viruses and corrupt files.

Newsgroups are the best bet! EVERY show from this tour has been posted in alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.m, and it takes about 5 minutes to download. Well worth the time!

Thanks for all the tips...the thing is that winmx had a lot of vidieoclips and video concerts that I didnt seen anywhere else!! I m sure that all the former Winmx users will "land" somewhere. Hopefully we IORReans that want to exchange some files( mostly Mpeg,Avi, mp3) could somehow all find a place in common .

What's wrong with Bit Torrent?

Re: Now that Winmx is gone

I never found alot of boots on WinMx these past 2 years.
Although i never used the chat rooms. Maybe thats were the boots were.
It was great for single songs too

I also use Bit Torrent and have been able to find eevrything i want in
movies and music. I dowwnload shows every single day form Dimeadozen and
Mininova

Actually both on WinMX and LimeWire you find more single songs instead of comlete albums/concerts.

I also prefer Torrents for DVD's and complete shows.

So, I can recommend users just to register at Dimeadozen or one of the other torrent sites. I use for the download Azureus. How is the experience with other client programs?

Nothing is wrong with bit Torrent, but If I want the video from Worried About You or Emotional rescue, for example, I dont find them ...Mostly is big files. That was my experience so far.I Use torrents as well , but only for big files. The Devil hides himself in small details

It´s such a shame. There were hundreds of boots - I actually got half the Licks tour from WinMX as album wraps (albw). The other half is incomplete and will probably never be completed - or is there some other place where those albw-seeders are now to be found? I checked out Limewire, it only had about 10 album wraps.

I miss WinMX... Shall I delete all the incomplete stuff now? Help me...

I use "bits on wheels" for torrent files. I work on a mac. I prefer torrent because it uses Flac or shn files which have a better compression than mp3. And very important if you want to convert mp3 to aiff to burn an audio CD, you a have a little clac between the songs. In fact, there is a micro space between each song (the compression in mp3 make that). If it's a studio album, this is not very important but for a live cd you become crazy.

yes it is true the mp3 have gaps but measured on miliseconds [1000 ms= 1sec] you can cut the gaps using some audio software editors like wavelab sound forge to name a few and even cut 1 milisecond so on live albums you can eleminate definitely these gaps
unfortunaly some 'smart' people using these techniques trade mp3 files on torrent sites , ok if you burn cd for yourself but to trade with others is really bad
get a wavelab or soundforge very useful programs for burning editting audio. wave, mp3 on shareaza you find these programs for free

I don't burn CD with the gaps from the mp3. I cut this milliseconds with a soft called "Amadeus". The mp3 versions with gaps always stay in my own archives.

you can get rid of these gaps with Nero, whatever the kind of files you have.
it's not a problem due to MP3...
