Ok, our single longest trip does not beat StonedAsia. But we are making two trips. We fly from San Antonio, TX. Trip one is Dublin and London and return home. Trip two is Marseille, Stuttgart, Prague and Warsaw. So our total mileage for this tour adds up....

Given that he's travelling so darned far, it's a Good Thing that Richard knows more than most people about maps.

Rockman also has quite a trip from Down Under, if he is coming, which I think he is. Me, from Montana to Dublin and London.

Unless someone is travelling to the UK from somewhere closer than NZ is to the to the International Date Line, and who is also in the Southern Hemisphere, then by spherical geometry definition Richard wins.

Rockman becomes a very respectable second (unless any Tasmanians are travelling?)

It is not far from my home town near Oslo, Norway to London, Edinburgh or Marseille, just 2-3 hours flying+train etc, but I go home between shows and also do a few trips before the tour to see what's on in London so I will do something like 45,000 km = 28,000 miles this summer on the tour.

My house to St Mary's stadium - approx 1 mile. Do I win?

Sjs12 wins smileys with beer...btw, I only counted the single trup. Between shows distance barely counts. Those of us coming from the Southern Hemisphere amd/ or SEA all have a long slog.

For Chrissakes, Foxy, I know that the peculiarities of the British train system can be a bit head scratching at times, but I'm pretty sure theres a more direct connection than that.

Ok, with a variation of the longest, how long are you away from home for the Stones? Our first trip is 8 nights, the second is 17 nights. And I have not told my boss yet.

11 days
3 scheduled shows
Los Angeles to Dublin to London, via Belfast, then back to L.A.

This will be the shortest overseas trip I will undertake.

But to the topic, probably somewhere in the middle

Only one show (Marseille) but I'll stay on the French Riviera for 8 days of vacations. We'll see Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Villefranche, and a couple of places in northern Italy.

Trips abroad to a Stones show doesn`t seem right to me.

I agree with you and I would never have thought I would cross the Atlantic to see a rock concert even if I'm a big Stones' fan. In my case, I would never have done it if it wasn't because of a great friend of mine who happens to work for Air Canada and got us ridiculously-low-price flight tickets. So, I decided to start my summer vacations in the south of France.

A trip abroad to see the Stones is a serious bucket list item for a lot of fans. Especially in their home country.
Not sure what doesn't seem right, though. Personally I have taken bv's advice as often as I can since given in 2012 (paraphrasing) "If you want to see the band live, you're going to have to travel, they're not going to tour forever".
