It's a funny ol' game, hard to say Morocco Iran should have been anything more than a draw and the poor Moroccan player scored the own goal off a header. Sad.

Those players were kicking each other quite a bit, still, a lot of these lower echelon teams don't seem to be playing as much gamesmanship as some of the top powers, few tricks. It was very physical out there.

Good game, pretty wide-open even if one might say, the high quality of some teams was not there.

Spain - Ronaldo 3-3. A good game and lots of goals. The Spanish goalkeeper made one crucial mistake though. Which settled it.

I started my predictions with a rather lean approach to goal scoring per game. I see now that that 0-0,0-1 and 1-1 may not be the most results that we are going to get. I am not an expert at all but I am now increasing the goals per game.

Congrats Dandy. You're number two now. Right behind the oracle Torres! I was also thinking 1-1 but didn't dare to go all the way (Argentina were huge favourites, off course).
Messi missed a penalty. Argentina should have had another one. Bad refereeing. The bald Icelandic defender is tough but a penalty (or freekick) enabler. Always one foot behind.
All kudos to Iceland though. Their first WC game ever and they draw with mighty Argentina. Like an Icelandic saga!

messi was a huge disappointment today. too easy to predict which way he would go, maybe the comparisons with maradodna should be put to be bed for good.

Attacking against Iceland is extremely difficult. It would have been for anyone. They never let in much goals (France in the euro championship was the exception), and they always score. Messi is not done yet

i agree iceland aint easy to score against, but messi tries to hard to do it all himself and usually tries to beat 3 or 4 at a time, without making the killer pass quicker. iceland read him easily.

i hope messi does come good though.

Messi is one of the greatest players the world has ever seen and I wouldn't be surprised if he was to help Argentina win the World Cup.
