Does anyone have an original Black and Blue lyric sheet from the original release?
Requires good eyes: [iorr.org] - looks like that the last two typos are not present.
Yea...5 years from now: After hearing the (insert newest, latest format designed to sell you your albums all over again for the 16th time) I don't see the use of going thru the froo-froo of hipster Blue-Ray Audio CDs. Yeesh.Quote

Vinyl is a bunch of crap. After hearing Blu Ray Audio CDs I don't see the use of going through the froo froo of hipster vinyl.

As for this new vinyl box release, just speculating, but seems they might have made more money with a regular compilation in various formats vs. a box set of vinyl which no matter what kind of "comeback" it's making is still a bit of a niche market. And while it will be more expensive than a comp in all formats, not sure if enough will sell to out-profit a regular compilation which could have been sold at merch stands, etc. at all the upcoming shows. Then again, I'm not as knowledgable as you about the business. I'm also no Universal exec. or an expert at sales strategies - especially for bands that live off of their past glories.
They are a 95% "physical product act" so the options are:
1- A "cheap" compilation of 20 warhorses priced at $5-7, it will sell more but not that much, physical sales are down 20-25% each year during the last 8-10 years, also a new Stones compilation is not news to anyone.
2- A 15 album box set priced way higher, it will sell way less than a regular compilation but it will make way more money thanks to the overprice.
So, 100,000/200,000 copies sold of a cheap compilation or 10,000/20,000 for an overpriced box set?
They went with the second option, there's not too much money difference at the end anyway.

After more careful analysis the situation with digital download became even more weird. I run the whole set through Dynamic Range Meter @ foobar2000 and these are the results
Sticky Fingers 16/44.1 - 2009 remaster
Exile On Main St. 16/44.1 except for Loving Cup which is the outtake and is 24/44.1 - 1994 Virgin remaster apart of Loving Cup which is 0.49 dB shifted comparing 2010 bonus disc.
Goats Head Soup 24/44.1 - Level shifted 2009 remaster with uncensored Star, Star
It's Only Rock 'n Roll 24/44.1 - Level shifted 2009 remaster
Black and Blue 16/44.1 - 2009 remaster
Some Girls 24/44.1 - Level shifted 2009 remaster
Emotional Rescue 24/44.1 - Level shifted 2009 remaster
Tattoo You 24/44.1 - Level shifted 2009 remaster
Undercover 16/44.1 - 2009 remaster
Dirty Work 24/44.1 - Level shifted 2009 remaster
Steel Wheels 16/44.1 - 2009 remaster
Voodoo Lounge 24/44.1 - Level shifted 2009 remaster
Bridges To Babylon 16/44.1 - original Virgin version 1997
A Bigger Bang 16/44.1 - 2009 remaster (which is marginally different from original 2005)
Blue & Lonesome 24/88.2 - HD tracks version with 0.01 dB shift
Level shift means that on 2009 remastered CD the tracks are usually clipped to -0.11 dB, while for download they are clipped to -0.61 dB or -0.80 dB.
What a mess!
