So still not clear If limited to 5000?

Looks like someone made a mistake in thinking: 00000-99999 is max. hundred thousand, not 5000 (because of the 5 decimal digits) ....

How the Rolling Stones' Massive New Vinyl Box Came Together

"Imagine the original version of each album turned up to 11," engineer Miles Showell says of remastering 15 of the band's LPs for a new collection

Looking forward to getting my copy. Surprised that - aside from the RS interview with Showell - there haven't been any reviews of the sound to pop up in the press this week ahead of the release. The half speed mastered Exile released a couple of years ago, to me, sounds very good. I'm looking forward to hearing the other albums soon!

No, it‘ s not limited to 5000.
The number of my box is something between 10000 and 15000.

The package around the package (it‘s called transport box, i guess) was nice too.

I needed some minutes to find the download card....

My idea was to start with the Hoodoo Blues from Blue and Lonesome....but this record isn ´t remastered.

So i started with Goats Head Soup.
Sadly i ´m a bit too tired to compare it directly to my old COC 59whatever.
I really like the sound of the new one....but...ouch...the vinyl is damaged at the end of Angie...grrr

So i took a look at the other records, and they look absolutely perfect.

Slave (4:53) rocks, and the sound of how can i stop and thief in the night is much better than on the original vinyl.

Now it´s time....good night

"Obviously, in this box, the first three or four albums [Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St., Goats Head Soup and It's Only Rock 'n Roll] are kind of fairly deliberately lo-fi. It was almost as if, when they went to record Black and Blue, they'd discovered FM radio, and thought, "We'd better make our record sound nice on the FM!" Because suddenly, from Black and Blue onwards, they sound really quite nice – it's a much cleaner sound. But I wasn't going to try and zing up the lo-fi albums, because people know and love them as they are, so it's not for me to try and rewrite history. And it would be wrong; if I was to try and screw in tons of EQ and make it sound really big and bright and smash you in the face, that wouldn't be what people are expecting, because that's not how those records sound."

I obviously love the originals but would have appreciated full on updated versions too.

I wonder if Black and Blue has the cool label on the vinyl with the moon shining through like it looked in the USA 1076

The download code says mp3 and wav, but there is no information about the bitrate.
I‘ ll download the files not before the official release date.
Normally that doesn ´t work.

After some warming up, for me and my hifi, with some songs from Willie Tee and U-Roy, i started with the b-side of Sticky Fingers.

I have to agree with the sentence from the Uncut Magazine review, that it is not so much an sonic upgrade as a deepening of the sound.

Sticky Fingers is my favourite album and i know it (and was listening to it) for about 42 years.
It´s like a really good friend, but never before i could look so deep in the soul of these songs (sorry for my english....hope it makes sense), especially „i got the blues“ and „sister morphine“.

Ok, just a first impression. I am not in the mood to switch between my old versions and the new master.

Next is the c-side of exile....

I started with the downloads a few minutes ago.
"Dirty Work" was my first one (don´t ask why) - it´s in 24/44,1 wav format.

Blue & Lonesome is in the well known 24/88 quality.

ABB is in 16/44.

Only 'narrowband' HiRes .... it was to expect. Do the WAVs contain the Metadata?

Could you make a list with all albums and their Download-formats?

So the Audio-Player shows only Track1.wav, Track2.wav, Track3.wav, etc. and no Cover-picture?

There is only the name of the song in the folder, they are in alphabetical order (f.e. Black and Blue: cherry oh baby, crazy mama….)

No Cover.

Thanks for the info.

So we have to convert the files to FLAC and have to add the Metadata by ourselves ....

I am very interested in Fingerprint file on the album It's only rock'n'roll, because of the comments of the mastering engineer.

Is it possible to find Fingerprint file as a separate track at a website, i-Tunes?

No, the Downloads from the Vinyl-Box are unfortunately not available for purchase via the Digital-Download-Stores. Here's the 2012 iTunes-preview: [iTunes.apple.com] .

Maybe someone can send you a PM with a link to the file from the Vinyl-Box ....

Now i have downloaded all albums.
All of them are in the wav format, but in different quality.

There are only six songs from Bridges to Babylon in the download folder!!!

No metadata or covers included (no good service in my opinion, but no big deal for me).

Here is the list:

16/44
Sticky Fingers, Black and Blue, Undercover, Steel Wheels, Bridges to Babylon (incomplete), A Bigger Bang

24/44
Exile, Goat´s head soup (dirty version winking smiley), iorr, Some Girls, Emotional Rescue,
Tattoo you, Dirty Work, Voodoo Lounge

24/88
Blue and Lonesome

Thanks for the update. thumbs up

So, nothing to miss - and seemingly nothing tops the 2011 Japanese SACDs.

16/44 and 24/44 is quite lame (B&L doesn't count since it's unedited) ....
