Bought my copy somewhere in the mid 80s and it has the lyric sheet as well.
Have never seen the tour flyer supposed included with the first editions.
Picture anyone?

Mine (bought in '76 hot from the press) did not come with a tour flyer.
BTW, no B&B lyrics sheet in the 1994 Virgin CD (just cheched).

I bought my copy the day it was released in the UK - no lyrics sheet.

Well, people in the UK are supposed to know English … winking smiley

Much interesting question is - what particular variant of mastering will be used?

At least the Vinyl was remastered & cut at half-speed by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios (London, UK). No info yet about the HiRes-Downloads.

What do you mean - whether the downloads are just «normal» wav-files or wav-files of the half-speed master?

Which Mastering was used for the HiRes-Downloads. It could be the 2009 remaster by Stephen Marcussen or the 2011 flat-transfers by FX-Copyroom or something new ....

No, I mean 2009 mastering or Japanese SACD transfer from 2011 or something new. Because if it is 2009 - no half-speed cutting will help.

It would be strange if the downloads differ from the «off the master tapes half-speed master».

Universal 2009 downloads would be a joke...

If there are wav-files, they are hopefully directly of the digitized master tape and not of a digital transfer of a matrix disc or the like.

Why is Dirty Work RED?

Due to the red shrink wrap:

"Dirty Work (1986) - LP with original heavy-weight inner sleeve, red shrink wrapping + bespoke sticker" - [Store.uDiscoverMusic.com]

It is a nice collection, but expensive. No extras, like a book or extra LP with rare tracks?
If you don't have these it is a great way to get all of them, but soundwise I'll think good used originals will be better (and cheaper).
I have the Exile Abbey Road remastered issue, marketed as the best. It s not bad, but the original Sterling pressing is better. And better cover print.
About same price for a nice used one without post cards (Abbey Road issue have them though). More punch and sharper sound on the old pressing.
If the process is the same, I expect these will be the same?

Hope they will be released separately, have them all except ABB.

Original Some Girls cover is not hard to find at a reasonable price.

Tempted, as always with Stones Lps, but will pass this one

How many times are the Stones gonna sell us the same old stuff over and over and over and over again ad nauseum?!.....geez...enough with the re-re-re-reissues already....anyone on this board who doesn't have multiple copies of every one of these LPs? ....the casual listener won't shell out the $$$ and all you people can't be serious about buying this....if it came with a 2LP set of brand new tracks...I.E the "NEW ALBUM".....well....otherwise forget it. Can't understand the excitement for this....and I'm a major vinyl guy...

Careless Photoshop!

Oval discs, non-square album covers.
Voodoo Lounge, Bridges To Babylon, and A Bigger Bang... expanded into DOUBLE ALBUMS.

The album is cut at half speed...
So I suppose the turntable speed needs to be 662/3 r.p.m.

My (original) Black And Blue LP also has the lyrics sheet. I think it's also there in the 1994 Virgin CD edition.

Which one? I don't see any at discogs.com.

I'm a sucker for the box set releases, but even I won't buy this at approx $650 canadian....it's a bit of a relief actually, I can barely fit any more discs on my shelves, but I may have tried if this had been priced reasonably.

B2b and VL were double album releases on vinyl.

The one that was released in Germany and Austria in 1976. I don't think there were so many different versions released simultaneously in Germany, but who knows. As I said before, the 1994 Virgin CD doesn't have it. But apparently the lyrics sheet will be included in the new box set, at least you can see it in the picture above.

Also ABB would have been one (dunno if it was released on vinyl).
They all are mucch too long to fit on a single LP. Exceptional cases aside, LPs were never longer than 35-40min (originally even less) for sonic reasons (dynamics, etc.). B2B, VL and ABB are much longer than that. Longer playing time means more grooves means less space for every single groove means worse dynamics. - Of course it's just a single groove per side in the shape of a spiral but you know what I mean.

Yep, ABB was indeed released as a double album on vinyl.

However, Aftermath was a 53 minutes single album (if memory serves).

I don't know but could well be, although that would already be rather exceptional. Well, if fact I do remember having bought Aftermath as a 15-year-old because it was considerably longer than the other ones. One of my Weather Report LPs (forgot which one) is almost 58min. By the mid/end 70s and later, most Rock LPs were around 22min/side.

Anyway, the groove&dynamics thing is also the reason why, say, recent Dylan vinyls come as double albums of originally single albums, with only 15min or so per side: less songs on a side -> more space for the groove -> better dynamics/sound.

With the shitty type of equipment we played our LPs on as youths in the 70s one wouldn't have noticed any difference ... LOL
