They told me to keep mine, and they refunded my credit card. If I hear any particular cuts that stand out, I can download them individually from ITune

Watching it now. Man, this was the late career peak of Keith Richards. He would never be this fluid, this totally in funky control again.

It's very good and the Riffmaster was riffing away for sure ! I think the whole band was "on" fire as well !

Since you have the Blu-ray disc : iTunes is not needed if you also have a computer with a Blu-ray drive.

MakeMKV software >>>>> rip to .mkv files >>>>> take .wav or .flac from the .mkv files.

Another alternate option : The entire album is also available for download from HDTracks in 24-bit .wav or .flac. (Must choose the format.) Then,if you want to burn to a regular CD,you could convert to 16-bit / 44.1 KHz .wav files.

Have not posted recently.....chemo and all that BS gets in the way.

I’m loving this LP. Cool colored vinyl, sounds great. Great setlist. Faster tempos. Just wish it was one of the March 1999 Philly shows I attended.

I haven't read all 22 pages so apologies if my question has been asked/answered and please direct me to that answer.

Is there a DVD only version (no CDs) available in the U.S.? Every vendor I've searched is selling the DVD/CD combo only. (I'm disappointed that the vinyl version doesn't include a DVD as past Vault releases have.)

Thanks.

did you check amazon?

Re: From The Vault: No Security San Jose April 19th, 1999, Released: 13th July 2018

It doesn't make any sense to get just the DVD because the DVD + 2CD is only 40 cents more.

$ 0.20 per CD sounds like the way to go there.

But,it looks like the Blu-ray is available from one merchant for just 15 cents on top of that so,it would be even better.

Only SD Blu-ray because of the way it was recorded in 1999 but, with the potential for better audio quality and a Blu-ray disc is more difficult to damage than a DVD.

I don't know what's going on with this release. Amazon sold me a Blu Ray/2CD combo, and then sent me a Blu Ray only. Yes, they refunded me, but something isn't right. When I go back on their (U.S.) site, now I can't find Blu Ray CD combos.

Yes I did check Amazon. That link is for the DVD/CD combo. (Don't much care for amazon either. Evil empire and all that.)

I don't have a Bluray player so a Bluray disc is useless to me. And my CD player is out of action (perhaps permanently) so I don't care about CDs either. Just want the DVD.

For $ 0.40 , (DVD versus DVD / 2 CD) what does it matter ??

Perhaps throw them in the attic ..... or give them away to someone who does have a functioning CD player.

You could buy the European DVD since it's NTSC and Region 0 (playable worldwide): [www.eBay.com] , [www.Amazon.co.uk] , [www.jpc.de] - (+ €3 shipping costs to US).

Hi! New here, though I've been a "lurker" for awhile. In answer to your question (I apologize if someone else has already answered and I've managed to overlook their post) is yes, the DVD ONLY is available. I got mine via eBay a couple weeks ago for about $22. LOVE IT! Hope this helps!smiling smiley

Does Keith's guitar shut off for a millisecond during the intro to Brown Sugar or does he completely miss the string? Watch the video

I haven't seen the video yet, but there have been several times over the years Keith's strings were muted by a wayward hanging scarf or shirt tail.

True, but by the end of the shows that stuff are usually gone smiling smiley

There is no scarf in the clip. He misses the strings on his guitar.

I watched the Blu ray over the weekend. The concert footage is horribly edited to my eyes. I simply can't stand flash editing where you get an image for 3 seconds and it changes right on time for the duration of the concert. It is really distracting/grating and I'm not sure where this trend began as it relates to concert video editing, but it needs to go away for good. This 1999 San Jose concert was a strong showing for the most part. Chuck Leavell piano tinkering is off putting on some songs and the big brass section is not my favorite Stones sound, but overall the band plays well. I would rate this a strong Keith show. If you can grin and bear it with the flash video editing this is a good Stones concert. The sound is pretty good on the Blu ray through a surround receiver.

Less than wonderful visual footage is something that affects a number of Vaults releases...but that should never put them off releasing such good shows as this one.

Yes...a great video is nice...but the music is the main thing.

Finally listened to it. They do sound very good, they play very well, but man they sound stiff. The swing and roll are completely gone, and that's completely due to the bass. They sound more like Status Quo than anything else. I thought they sounded great when I saw them in '99,but it doesn't translate very well on this release.

Yep, the choice of Darryl is still a conundrum to me. In my eyes a lose-lose-affair. The Stones didn't benefit from it, neither did Darryl. At least not in musical terms. Financially, sure.

If Darryl loves the Stones's music, he might have gained a lot musically as well. But I know what you mean smiling smiley
