As much as I love the Stones and as great as this show supposedly is...I knew this would happen...I find that I'm not interested in this release. I know it's been 20 years but this isn't 'Vault' stuff...

I wonder if this is why Mick and Keith were in the studios recently.
Some editing, re mixing perhaps?

Are you just not interested period or because it's labeled as a "vault" release?

This Vault release is huge because it is something most of us have never seen in any form, I'm not sure it is even traded in private circles!

Celebrate! The answer is San Jose 4/19/99.

"Scarlet, why you wearin' my heart on your sleeve, where it ain't supposed to be?"

Personally, I'm disappointed that Memory Motel isn't on it. I really like the version on No Security (Dave Mathews' singing on it doesn't bother me one damn bit!!!)

There're 4 snippets from the 20th on the MfG-27 DVD: [dbboots.com] .

I followed much of the No Security Tour from the opener to the closer.

I remember several highlights. Shine a Light and Paint It Black I thought were great in Oakland. Mick was funny the way he sang Some Girls. Some Girls was still coming together on the tour at that point.

Cleveland had a beautiful Memory Motel. I remember thinking this performance should be preserved forever and will be gone.

I also thought Whip and Imagination in DC were great, again, gone forever.

Philadelphia wasn't too good the first night but was very good the second night. Fool to cry if I remember correctly had five guitars. I remember Blondie on stage. Fool to Cry was a huge highlight on the tour because it was played so great and different. I've hunted for years for a great copy of that performance but never found anything that was good quality.

Pittsburgh was a hot show! Ronnie was particularly on fire. Before They Make Me Run was particularly great. It's Only Rock and Roll was fantastic. I could not believe how great IORR was on that tour, especially in Pittsburgh.

San Jose, the tour closers were by far the best shows of the tour. I also tracked down every performance of You Got the Silver and I Got the Blues and San Jose by far were the very best.

Midnight Rambler was hot on the tour and with Miss You not on the set list made the set list better.

I remember both San Jose shows thinking these were great shows. There were cameras everywhere. There was a big boom camera in the back on the floor that would often zoom in on the audience, me included.

I think this was a great Stones tour and I'm really looking forward to this one.

I have been waiting for a long time for this....unless I end up on the cutting room floor, I remember being filmed during this one. How can I get it?

In what context? Were you interviewed or filmed in the audience?

1. No Security tour, 1999, was not covered before on a record. Thus this is a concert that is unknown to general public. Though most of fans already have these concerts from audience recordings. But this time you are getting pro-shot video and properly recorded audio. Mind that original No Security album is out of print and probably will not be re-issued. Anyway, it was collected from Bridge To Babylon tour performances from 1997-1998.
2. The band was really good during that tour and performances were very energetic. This is a good, not a sloppy show.
3. The set list is a bit different comparing to other tours, although it contains 5(6) songs from Hot Rocks (2nd disc) and 6(5) songs from Jump Back. But apart of these warhorses it carries a couple of rarely played gems like Some Girls, Route 66, Get Off Of My Cloud, I Got The Blues (or Moonlight Mile) plus a pair that time 'crowd favorites' from Bridges to Babylon.

Other than that - with time it will transform to dust magnet anyway winking smiley

With this newly announced vinyl box set coming out in June I don't see another Vault release until the holidays maybe, it is not like the Stones to have two product releases too close together.

I feel compelled to share my observation. The new LP box set is 5 pages already in 2 days in comparison to this thread. Since I've been on this board myself included there's been a lot of complaining about opening the vaults. Now they are and there's (seemingly) more interest in re-issues. Just found this a little ironic.

Very much looking forward to this release. Saw six shows on this tour.

I also give a big thumbs up to Imagination in DC. It rivals the Hampton 81 version.

I have Charlie's drumstick from Philly 2 Midnight Rambler. My brother actually caught it and awarded it to me. Now framed in my home office.
