i know they tried that one on one of the latter-day tours, and I thought
they didnt quite nail it. it still sounded like an auditorium song, not
"big" enough

is there any way you think they could arrange the guitars so it had that
big anthemic sound?

because that's what i think it is, a neglected anthem. in my imagination,
as an opener, especially thematically, i think it could be really rousing

Live in 1964.. (not sure where) but can almost see Mick honing his skills working the large crowd.
Great early live performance.

"can almost see Mick honing his skills working the large crowd"

Honing his skills? Seems he already has it mastered!
While I'm All Right would be great to hear, not sure it could translate well in a massive stadium or if they could even pull off that type of energetic performance any more.
Considering it's wild rave-up nature, probably best suited for a small club or theater, but for Homers sake I hope they give it a shot. thumbs up

"can almost see Mick honing his skills working the large crowd"

Yeah, that didn't come out right.

Mainly because most of the footage from the early years I've seen are smaller crowds, this appears a somewhat larger crowd. Should read more like fine-tuning his larger crowd skills, but no doubt about it the skills are phenomenal. Love the look he gives (to Keith) at the end, like -I got this.

To be honest, I don't think either Sway or Knocking will make it to the main setlist. They are to complex and demanding. Too risky for an opening night. But for London show #2 or any other place really when they feel like it they might throw in one of them or both. And to have "Slipping Away" as the final song of a show it will be in my dreams but not for real I think.

They have been working hard on several songs out of "Out Of Our Heads" they normally don't play, this will be the highlight of the shows for me. I just hope they keep these songs in the set, it will bring back the mid 60's feeling of the very young Mr Richards on guitar, I just can't wait until next week to hear it.

The band is in great shape, all smiles, and they are just like horses just before the race is about to start - very ready.

Great Björnulf, this reminders of what the two old ladies in the 70’s said to Mick and Keith:
“Give us a Glimmer”
I’m curious even more now!
Thanks! Not sarcastic!
A song which belongs with it here: Good Times

"She said yeah" would be fantastic, played with nasty & in your faces guitar riffs. It is a great R&R tune.

Sorry, but I cannot imagine that this song would work in a stadium or that they could perform a decent version nowadays. It is a rouing song for a young singer.

(As usual: no offence here, but sometimes it seems better to leave songs in their glorious past versions).

Yes. Some songs they should not perform at this point. Others they should.

I think that the ship has sailed on "She Said Yeah". Maybe it would have been a good idea when they were playing fast in 1978 but,now I don't know.

From "Out of Our Heads" ,the songs I would most like to hear are "Play With Fire" and "Heart of Stone". They are much more rare live in concert than some people might think that they are.

Besides those two, what else is there?? "Cry to Me" , "Hitch Hike" , "Gotta Get Away" and maybe "Have Mercy". Would they work in a stadium??

The Stones should really consider the half of "Exile On Main Street" that they never or rarely perform (depending on the specific songs) .... when deciding on songs to add to their live set.

Consider those more strongly than stuff such as "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man" and "Oh, Baby (We Got a Good Thing Going)".

Short clip of Start Me Up.. with Ronnie playing up the camera.

I'm betting after two full weeks of rehearsals we see a club gig pop up for this tour...
Dublin or London I wonder.. If I had to bet, I'd say London, Monday night.

I'm in a Sixties cover band myself. We can pick from a catalogue of around 80 songs. The Stones forever playing this limited setlist seems extremely boring to me.
