I like GHS a lot, but that's weird. Maybe people just think it's a cool cover.

I think for a lot of us GHS was one of the first albums that really grabbed us, and we were able to go buy on our own, or listen to and appreciate our brothers etc.

Those born in late fifties were still a bit young to line up for, or relate directly to, the iconic Sticky Fingers album. GHS, even though only two+ years later, with it's unconventional imagery, poster insert and killer tracks left a large mark on us impressionable young teens.

Born in the early 50's I was deeply disappointed at first listing....and now I found it "great" but no comparison with what they released before ......

GHS was not even re-issued, very strange list indeed.

Not surprised about Blue and Lonesome, the album is still selling about 4,000-5,000 copies worldwide each week, and is still charting in many european countries, this week at #130 in the UK selling 1,000 copies.

The answer to the original question is probably the same as asking which is the best selling stones album full stop. Given the date of the original big selling albums i think nearly all sales will be vinyl. So Hot Rocks is my guess.

Not listed in this chart of non-compilations, but read also that Hot Rocks is their biggest selling album.

When I played my original vinyl copy last year, I noticed that it was pretty worn out. So guess what my wife got me for Christmas? A vinyl GHS. That and the first McCartney solo album on vinyl to replace the other one. Wonderful.
