5 shows for me in 2018:
- DUBLIN = 314€: Tix Golden Circle 188€ / Hotel (1 night) in a room of of 6 bed 20€ / Airplane ryanair dinard-london-dublin 106€

- EDINBURGH = 369€ : Tix General Admission 120€ / Hotel (1 night) 56€ / carpool 15€ / airplane ryanair nantes-edinburgh 89€ + Air France edinburgh-paris 69€ / TGV paris-St Brieuc 20€

- MARSEILLES = 328€ : Tix Pelouse Or 151€ / Airbnb (3 nights) 134€ / Train St Brieuc-marseille 43€ (for 1000 km !)

- STUTTGART = 372€ : Tix GA 149€ / Airbnb (3 nights) 107€ / Airplane ryanair marseille-francfort 35€ / Train francfort-stuttgart 20€ / Train stuttgart-paris 39€ + paris-st brieuc 22€

5 shows for me – average ticket price: 52 Euros.

Re: budget for fan Stones on the 2018 tour

Edinburgh 2x120euro, 2x30euro (dips), 250 euro flights, 500 euro hotel

total 1050 excluding food and drinks for one show with 2 persons (making it a nice weekend)

If i could do more shows I would do it on a budget (350 euro per show for ticket, flight and hotel)

Also i will sell my normal tickets or my dips (the worst ones) so i assume i can earn 100 euro back from that.

Coventry = £210 for two tickets around £150 spending merchandise, drinks etc.

Edinburgh = lodgings £130 for two nights, rail = £154, tickets = £210 and around £200 spending.

Cardiff = free hotel room, two golden tickets = £250 and around £150 spending.

So around £1,500, but will probably be more, depending on quality of merchandise or if we have time to go to a decent restaurant.

Two shows so far, Cardiff and Twicks, after two tickets for each show, accommodation and travel, a few good drinks ( piss ups ) and meals, i'm not going to get change from £1500.

Its not so much the ticket prices as everything else, time off work the whole deal.

When i went to Paris for two shows last year i needed to add flights on top of that and Paris is more expensive to wine and dine in compared to Wales and London, i went through a fortune, silly little beers too.

London has some fairly cheap pubs and restaurants these days if you look around. Hell if you're on a really tight budget there is always a Witherspoons within a 5 mile radius. Good ale and Steaks, i'm not to proud to enter one of these places but you will bump into drunks lol, probably because the Abbot ale and kronenberg is so cheap winking smiley

I haven’t totalled it up but I’m Lucky Dipping 9 Shows (whole U.K. + Prague, plus GA for Dublin and Gold Standing in Warsaw. Total spent on tickets about £500 so approx £45 a show.
It all kicks off with a Return air fare from Bristol to Dublin at £28 and I have 3 nights in a hostel there at about £20 a night.
I will be day tripping London 2, Southampton, Cardiff & Twickenham with very cheap booked far in advance transport to all but Southampton which I’ll have to drive to.
2 nights in London for London 1 at £16 a night so that I can go to the IORR Band gig too.
I’ve got a week off work for Coventry, Manchester and Edinburgh. My sister lives in Nottingham amd I will stay with her for 3 nights and she’s coming to Coventry with me as my LD guest driving me there.
I have 3 nights in Manchester at £23 a night where I’ll meet my cousin who’s travelling down from Scotland to meet me and join me at the show as my LD guest. We then both go to his home near Glasgow and he will join me at Edinburgh as my LD guest for that show too, driving me there.
I’m on the 8am coach South from Hamilton to Oxford the morning after the show - £27 on split ticketing and discount codes. All my other transfers around that trip are booked far in advance super cheapies. Swindon to Nottingham for £10 - Part Train part coach, Nottingham to Manchester for £7.40 Train and Manchester to
Glasgow by direct non stop coach for £7.50.
I’m doing Prague and Warsaw as a double header. £33 flight from Stansted to Prague. An AirBnB for 5 nights in Central Prague at £32 a night with my Northern Irish friend who’s also going to be my LD partner as he was at Paris 1 & 2 last year. At 8am the Morning after the show, I get a coach to Warsaw for £10. I have an AirBnB in Warsaw for £26 a night for 4 nights then a night with friends near Modlin after the show and a £16 flight from Modlin to Birmingham and home on Trains and buses afterwards. I know a few people around the Warsaw area and they’ll be coming to the show too, the same people I went to the excellent Chorzow show with in 1998.

I’m not a big drinker or expensive eater so these costs won’t be much.

I reckon my whole Tour of 11 Shows will cost £1500 to £2000 but I’m unconcerned by that. I love planning and organising travel and sniffing out all these bargains. The big hit isn’t financial. Between 17 May and 10 July, I’ll be taking 19 days out of my leave allowance which will leave me very short for the rest of the year!

Looking forward to it and meeting as many IORRians as I can. I’ve met loads already!

Do you mind telling me where you get to stay in London for £16 per night, is it far from the venue because that is amazingly cheap.

$650 -Air (R/T- Seattle/London)
120 -Trains/Coaches/Etc
880 -Lodging (15 nights)*includes two free nights from rewards program.
798 -Tickets (4 shows- 2 GC, 2 LD)
300 -Misc entertainment
600 -Meals
250 -Concert shirts,souvenirs,etc.
_____
$3598 US total.

Haven't added it up before, but coming really close to the initial budget approved by the boss (wife)winking smiley of about 4k.
Not bad for four shows in three countries.
I'll likely exceed the budget, but probably not by much..cool smiley

A bed in a hostel dorm here. The price has since gone up to £24 a night but still spaces available. It’s near Kings Cross Station so an easy tube journey to the venue.

I initially booked for £19 a night but they then cut the price to £16 a night so I cancelled and rebooked grinning smiley

I haven’t got one winking smiley. I can withstand most types of Accomodation and travel - in fact I find it all a bit of a laugh. All part of my game grinning smiley Doing my research, Sniffing out and pouncing on bargains, booking far in advance and sussing out the Train and Coach Companies’ secret Split ticketing hubs. It’s a particular issue here in the U.K., where it is frequently much cheaper to book 2 separate parts of a journey on the same coach or train than book the whole journey as 1 ticket. Nuts, but that’s how they do things here.
