he does come from pretty humble background, as did Keith,
who also will go out of his way to be sweet to a fan but i wouldn't try the hug stuff on stage
unless K opened his arms to something other than a a chunk of tree that he will embed into my head, and then snap it back casually not missing a beat.
This is too sweet. He's a lovely old dude in a lot of ways. His Stern interviews are very casual; he's not hiding a lot of crap like he used to,
trying to be the big Ace; he's grown into himself.
What's a little sad about this perfectly wonderful video is that he's lost
a lot, or say a bit, of that vocal facility in the last ten years imo...
...tho it is most impolite to say so; this is more affectionate than a beatle-slag of any kind.

I think we used to bring cannabis related stuffr as THE kitbag essential.
that was pretty much our kitbag; it was gonnas be an intense 70 minutes.
There might have been a drink or 2.
We def smoked cigs and joints and danced. Oh matches; defintely matches.
Usually fire and water; you've already got some air. the band is earthy.
so we've got all the elements.

A mate said to me once always take 2 Sharpie pens with ya to a concert ya never know who ya might meet so I took his good advice and a few months later Paul McCartney's guitarist Rusty Anderson signed my concert ticket and tour program at Auckland airport..

2 years ago I was waiting at St Pancras Station for my Eurostar to Brussels to see Pail McCartney at Rock Werchter the next day. Rusty was standing right next to me, digging out his US passport and I could see his surname, which he shares with me. I didn’t want to bother him but no-one else knew who he was. He’s very tall and slim and built like a greyhound! I’ve heard he’s really good with fans so a missed opportunity.

A few fans have said drinking lots of alcohol at concerts..surely people can go without a drink for 2/3 hours wasting time wandering around going to toilets and the bar while a bands performing is something I never do all my drinking is done at pre/post parties..

I was once standing in a line to a bar at a Springsteen concert that served either large beers or shots of tequila - both were the same price. Just about everyone in the line was buying 2 glasses (well, plastic) of beer. I got 2 shots of tequila. The guy in line behind me said "you must be rich" to which I said "no I'm spending the same amount of money as just about everyone in line, I will get probably a bigger buzz than you, and I'll be able to enjoy the whole show without going to the toilet." His response was..."you got a point there".
