Any news about the support acts 2018?

In 2017 I think "The Struts" in Zürich were great.

Saw them opening for The Who in Quebec. Great sound, great stage presence, great energy. Nice band with some great songs.
I'd like to see them again.

The singers voice sounds a little bit like Freddy Mercury. Great own songs and stage presence and sound!

The Struts toured USA as opener for The Foo Fighters and will be back in Europe (Werchter) this summer!

I think "DeWolff" would be a great opener, too

Rumours are Snow Patrol who in fact have a night off from there mini irish tour on the 17th May. Ed Sheeran is in town on the 17th but there's no way in hell he will support

I agree but there’s a pretty big chance he’ll have a special guest spot He had one in the US 3 years back.

They would be a great opener - so many great fun tunes!
Would be far more uplifting and energetic than the lethargic Starsailor opening in London during the Licks tour.

I guess who will be the opening act(s) will have a lot to do with ticket sales. If tickets sell slowly they might try to boost them by adding a popular support act.

I'd prefer some blues bands and/or as many different support acts as possible

You're absolutely right, no opening act but a 'guest' act.

i find it strange that we have no support acts yet. if the ticket sales are slow you would think they will anounce soon.

Wilko Johnson would be a great opener, I think.

Why do you care. You live in NYS and wont be there. Lee Michaels hasn't played live in 40 years.

primarily the promoter? Seems I was told the promoter picked the opening acts
on the Zip Code tour.

Good question and not sure about that, but the opener in San Diego was Gary Clark Jr. who also sat in with the Stones during Bitch.
Seems he might have been picked by the Stones themselves, but I suppose the promoter could have arranged it?

I'm going to all 3 London gigs and must say these support acts are terrific. Don't know much about Florence and the Machine but pleased with James Bay and Liam Gallagher

Tim Burgess of The Charlatans opened up for The Stones at Wembley Arena circa '03 as a solo act, whilst pushing his debut solo album.

Wonderfully and with a great taste chosen support acts for a British tour. Especially great to see Richard Ashcroft and Liam Gallagher there - both goys having some issues with The Stones previously, but, of course, both belonging to great chain of British rock starting with the Stones and the Beatles.

I wonder if Ashcroft has the balls to talk about the 'best Jagger/Richards song for 20 years' when introducing his most well-known song....
