I saw Bad Company a a couple of years ago (or whatever remains of them) and have to say Paul Rogers vocals were perfection.
Having also seen them back in '79 or '80, and well as Paul when he was with the Firm a couple of times, it really is amazing to hear him today.

Neil Young also still sounds nearly the same, but his vocals might even be better than when he was younger - less whiney.

And the guys in ZZ Top - rough and gruff vocals..still sounding good.

Singers I can think of that have maintained their voices better than most...

Glenn Hughes (65) - [www.youtube.com]

Sammy Hagar (70) - [www.youtube.com]

Ronnie James Dio (until his death at 67, 64-65 in the video) - [www.youtube.com]

Steven Tyler

He is from Jay and the Americans. The band had 2 singers named jay, but he had the big hits. The other 2 that comes to mind is This Magic Moment and Come a Little Bit Closer.

Willie Nelson's vocals at 50 years apart (1965, 2015).

Looks much much different, but the voice is pretty similar.

Steve Winwood's voice has held up amazingly well, given that he was 16 when we first heard him.

True, but . . . what I've noticed about Willie is that he talks through his lyrics rather than sings them. I find that frustrating as hell, as I want to hear him SING, not speak his lyrics in a staccato-like fashion. Of course, not on all of his songs, but enough to notice.

Some singers mentioned here never had much of a range so don't really qualify IMHO, might as well include Ringo in that case.

The truly astonishing guy is Glenn Hughes who is the only one who kept the exceptional range of his youth, especially with all the howling he's done. His style might not be to everyone's liking though ;-)

Yes, Dandelion 1967! When he cuts in for the first line is magic. The voice still holds up:

We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor...

Mick's singing is great. I wasn't a huge fan of the recent solo stuff,
but vocally he sounds great to me.
He's fascinating; in one way almost tuneless screaming; but he's 'going for it,' always pretty much....then he'll hit that low note perfect pitch, richly
resonant...yeh amen to that; it's a thrill....
he never (permanently---sort of like Dalty or McCartney),
changed or 'blew' things out.
rod stewart had the node surgery....etc....
it's pretty amazing he still has great energy and tone and character...
i don't think there's anybody else in the band; ever; probably including
Taylor, that has kept his gifts so much intact. well i don't know if that
was a fair remark about how taylor's doing these days...but generally speaking,
i think he's pretty much the only one from his generation of rock and roll singers; which he IS, as much as the blues guy.....who still has enormous
power; and that 'youthful' (for lack of better word) presence and impact.

Don Henley can sing pretty close to the same, including the high notes. But he sometimes gets mixed reviews, so maybe it depends on what show you attend.

Tony Bennett, to me, improved with age. His voice was a little too strident on his early songs like "Rags to Riches."

Colin Blunstone of The Zombies.

Saw them in 2017 when they played their 1967 album Odessey and Oracle from start to finish, replicating the original work entirely note for note.

Glad to see Gary Brooker getting some love. Any day Procol Harum gets fawned over is a good day and its far too infrequent.

As for other guys that haven't been mentioned, the one that comes to mind that hasn't been mentioned is John Fogerty. I have a friend who swears he doesn't, and I know obviously he's not exactly the same. But he's pretty damn close. Maybe a bit less raspy, but overall John Fogerty still sounds exactly the same to me as he did 50 years ago. Another one I'd argue too is Ian Hunter from Mott The Hoople. I had heard iffy things about him, but saw him and thought he was great. And I think what's in his corner is he was never technically perfect, even in the old days. So for a relative screamer, I think he's held up insanely well.

And glad someone said Mick, cause he is still phenomenal and I know different but similar to Fogerty to me where I think for how long he's been in the game he still sounds relatively the same. I think musicians or singers are probably harsher critics, and probably correct that he's really changed vocally, but overall to me I've always thought he's held it together super well.

My wife and I saw John Fogerty several years ago, and while it was a full on great show in every way filled with all the Creedence classics (as well as some new stuff he had just released), his vocals were noticeably a bit weaker...or maybe softer would be a better term. That's not a criticism, just an observation.
