Hey GAFF, why don't you go down to the supermarket get something to eat
Steal something off the shelves
Pass by the liquor store, be back about a quarter to 12 ....

Great song! Loved seeing them play it on the '81 tour.

You were lucky, almost too lucky...

You know you're right. Damn my memory is slipping. I saw them in San Diego and could have sworn they played it. Guess I was too stoned. We got 26 songs, five of them off Tattoo You, but Slave was not one of them. My mistake. I do recall reading that they did it during soundcheck on a recent tour.

Of course it wasn't played on the 1981 tour (and will never be). They rehearsed it a couple of times over the years. The only proof are some seconds on Four Flicks.

It sounded good in rehearsal on 4 Flicks. It's a shame they didn't play it live.

No, it is not.

One of their weakest ones.

Should not have been released at all.

Does not sound "stonesy" at all.

Even On with the Show or even Gomper is superior.

Maybe I only am not a man of wealth and taste?

Slave still rocks 3+ years later. Put it in the setlist.

It's my most listened stones song. For some reason it never gets old.
Some many musical details in there. I still discover things in it. even after 40 years of knowing it.
When it comes to counting the times I played it - it's my favorite stones tune.

Interesting CD-set that one. Tattoo You being rehearsed already in 1975, six years before its release...

Perfect Stones song? No. Very very good yes! I think it is very enjoyable the drum sound on it. I have seen it said that people think it wouldn’t work live. I’m not sure why though? I would love to hear /see it live..
