Great song, and would be nice to hear a Stones cover version during the upcoming tour like they did with Love Train during Licks.
Imagine Mick doing the poses...smiling smiley Chances of that happening are probably zero, but it might work!

I would agree with this, but it is technically incorrect, as rap is not actually songs, or even music... and it is not actually "written"... the raps is spittted out as someone shouts over the sound of an existing song, destroying the original, making it no longer a song... as it just becomes noise... kind of like car crushing at the salvage yard.

But if the question was "what noise should never be created?"... your answer is perfect. smileys with beer

Seasons in the Sun (Terry Jacks)

Jacks didn't write it, but he should have never recorded it!

For that matter, Barry Manilow's I Write the Songs...he didn't even write it!!!!

*Looking up info on wiki, and had no idea it was written by the Beach Boys Bruce Johnston!!! (He ought to be ashamed of himself lol)

And coincidentally, speaking of Muskrat Love, it was also recorded by Captain and Tennille before Barry!!!

Even crazier, the first version recorded and released was by David Cassidy!!!!

I didn't write the song!!!

"This song has also been recorded by Johnny Mathis, Frank Chacksfield, Mantovani, Ray Conniff, Richard Clayderman, Tom Jones,
Dinah Shore, as well as Bruce Johnston himself on his 1977 album, Going Public. Frank Sinatra sang it as "I Sing the Songs" from 1976"

Just my luck, the song will be stuck in my head now for days!!! confused smiley

Jermaine Stewart - We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off
Joe Jackson - Is She Really Going Out with Him
Billy Joel - Scenes from an Italian Restaurant
Hall & Oates - Private Eyes

That was a fun record. Good AM radio stuff. You need those types of tunes.

Precious and Few does sound like a sappy tv ad, but I liked it when I was a kid listening to top 40 radio.
There is an undeniable similarity to the theme to The Mary Tyler Moore show.

Sonny Curtis - Love Is All Around (1970)

I have a guilty pleasure/soft spot for Escape (the Pina Colada Song) with a Stones twist. I had just bought a MXR Phase 100 around that time, 'cause of Some Girls and the '78 tour, Shattered and and all that stuff. I was driving with a friend of mine and that song came on the radio and he said, "Have you heard this song? It's really stupid," etc. But the only thing I zeroed in on was the guitar with the phase on it, as I had just bought one. So it's been a guilty pleasure of mine ever since.

Pretty much anything in the Top 40 now.

There is some “song” on the radio in work now and it’s mind numbingly stupid. The words “what do you know, what do you know” being repeated over and over and over again.

Although I’m not sure if this will fall in to this category as whoever claims they are a song writer after coming up with that needs to take a good look at themselves
