I hope it will be so smiling smiley

We will see when the first reports will come from Dublin from those people who will stand in pit next to the tunnel.

For what it worth, a friend of mine got a pit ticket and told me that there will be a connection between Pit A and B, like last year. Can't remember where he got the information.

Interesting, guess we'll soon find out when they play Dublin !

Regarding the gates to enter, I checked both my:

Pit A ticket from GDP and it says Gate 5
Pit B from Fnac and it says Gate 5

I am not sure which to selll (I know it may not matter in the end with the tunnel but still would like to try to get it right)

is it possible to contact the stadium box office to find out?

Hi, see previous page in this topic, specifically the post from Massimo68. PIT A at GDP is really PIT B. GDP mixed up the two apparantly.

Massimo,
are they any news about the SCNF strike ?
My TGV on June 28th back to Frankfurt is still
sheduled, but it's an official strike day.
Now I'm thinking about to fly in.
Otherwise SCNF guartantees that 30% of the trains will be working as usual.
So I'm really undecided what to do?

I'm in the same boat, train back to Paris on the 27th (strike day too). If my train is cancelled, I'll just hop on the next one irregardless of what it says on my ticket, there will likely not be any on-board inspectors to give me/you any crap just because you're not on the right train; only downer is you might not have a seat and might have to sit on the train's floor/steps or hang out in the bar wagon. Methinks it will be a good adventure!

Re: Marseille France travel and show info

Last time i went back from Marseille (was in 2003 for the Licks Tour), i spent the entire travel in the bar wagon with my friends and had fun. No big deal, it's just a 3 hours and 20 minutes trip.

I cannot really give you a good advice.
Tomorrow, is another strike day.
This is the trafic "forecast" given today by the SNCF for may 19th :
- Paris-Marseille (and Marseille-Paris) : 2 TGV on 3 will be available
- France-Germany trafic : all trains are OK.

As FrogSugar says, on a strike day you can jump in another TGV if your train is cancelled. But seated places are not guaranteed.

(today was a strike day too, and the forecast was the same as tomorrow)

Thanks jackflash27, i see the discussion about what gate leads you where (both seem to dump you on ronnie's side)....but didn't realize that conclusion was drawn about the misprint. I might write to GDP about it.

Ticketmaster.fr does the same. See pic, where PIT A en B are swapped compared Fnac (and all other concerts). Confusing!

you guys might want to think about sharing a car from paris to Marseille.
I know it's far from ideal (7.5hrs drive / 800km) but they way things are going with the strikes it might turn out to be the "best" solution.

**
best place to go before the show is the vieux port(center of town):
there are several nice bars / pubs there.

from here it's easy to take the metro (1 change) to the stadium. (takes 5/10 mns):

you can also walk it as only 4km and there are bars along the way :-)

**

Near the stadium (a 15 min walk / 1.5km) there is a bar called:
(my favorite pub in Marseille)

**

and of course there are loads of bars righ next/around the stadium.

***

Cheers from a Dutchy in Marseille

I heard back from Orange Velodrome with the final answer on pit sides and gates:

Please find below the side and access door to your purchased places:

The PIT A is listed Jean Bouin (Access door 4) on the left of the stage,
PIT B is rated Ganay (Access door 5) on the right of the stage.

so what do we with "Pit A door 5" GDP mistakes do?

The day of show there's no train strikes (my way back the next day will be a different story!)

What is best bar to hang out after the show?!

Hi, I need some advice on the transportation from Airport to St Charles station. What's the easiest way to get to St Charles station from there? I already did some research and think the shuttle bus is a good option? It starts at airport and drives directly to city center, right?
And is it possible to buy ticket in the bus (I arrive Monday night after 22.00, so I assume ticket desk is closed?).
Other ideas/suggestions are welcome! thanks

hi

yes shuttle certainly the cheapest, as taxi will set you back upto 50 eur

you can buy your ticket online
[www.marseille-airport.com]

Marseille has Uber which I strongly suggest you use in case you need a taxi to go around town.

as it's on a Tuesday, it will be rather quiet in town.
I'd say best is going to the Vieux port (center) or
1 of the bars around the stadium

Ok, thanks, I guess I'll wander around vieux port/centre area as it's closer to my AirBnB, unless someone comes up with a Stonesy suggestion between now and then!

ok found it

(on the right you have a PDF to download)

it says ticket desk is open till 22.10hrs, after that you can buy ticket in bus.

(indeed online they do NOT sell tickets for Marseille)

Are there any organized bus transfers from other citiest to the concert and back as there was in Lucca last year for example?
Thanks!

Gates opening : 18h00, 6:00 PM.
Security check will be important and before the gates, so even if you have a seated ticked, don't be late.

Bags : max size, 15 x 21 cm, 6"x8".
Baggage room in tribunes Jean Bouin and Ganay : 2 €.

If you have a car, you can park few yards from the Orange Velodrome in Parc Chanot. 15 €.
But this is really a mess when a football match or a concert is over, all the cars are going out by the same gate and expect to be stuck a long time in the park before exit.

A gift from Olympique de Marseille.
So far, 52.000 tickets were sold (and this is really a good surprise).

Thanks Massimo. Doors open at 18.00 seems kinda late, no? Probably will open before that.

Security measures will be high it seems? Or is this just to scare us a bit winking smiley They cannot possibly check 50.000 people before entering I assume. But good to know security will be strict.

Still very curious about the shape of the PIT area's. Will it really be larger than other venues? Could be possible, the prices are much lower for one thing.
