What time are people planning to arrive to claim their Lucky Dip tickets?

I will collect mine as soon as the LD office opens up. If you are allocated a standing section, they usually let you in immediately without having to queue. In Paris 1 last year I got an excellent spot in the front row of GA (side) and I was about 3rd row at Paris 2 (side).

It wouldn't be any shock at all and would make sense. In the run up to 14OF, LDs were available pretty much continuously for Oslo between going on sale and show day and available in singles too. I'm solo dipping 3 UK shows - Cardiff and the 2 London Stadium shows.

I'm Lucky Dipping Coventry and Berlin. Given the completely absurd face value price of pit tickets in Berlin (€799), I'm hopeful that I will get truly lucky and score a pit ticket ......

For Coventry, I don't really care, I'll happily take what I'm given. I'll just be glad to be 'in the room' as it were .......

Otherwise, have great lower tier seats near the stage on Ronnie's side for Cardiff, and pit for Twickers, Marseille, Prague, and Warsaw. WHAT a tour this is gonna be ....... !!

I'm doing 11 this tour - absolutely bonkers but what the hell. Skipping only Berlin, Marseille & Stuttgart before rejoining the tour for the Prague and Wawa double header and making a holiday of it. I'm dipping every show bar Dublin & Warsaw. Tempted to downgrade to dips for Dublin (from GA). The only reason I went for GA was because of reported crap sound in upper levels at Croke Park and the risk that Lucky Dips would put me there but with slow sales perhaps not.

Warsaw has the most expensive LDs of the tour at 73GBP a piece but ironically carries the biggest risk of crap seats as the show has sold very well.

Depends how many of these new LD will be sold at all as there are mostly known here.

... Perhaps they have to sell them to fill the PIT first...

It's hard to know what's happening and what their plans are. The show is only 3 and a bit weeks away, the clock is running down and the promoters look like they're getting anxious and panicky.

Their problem is that the island of Ireland has a total population of only 6 million, the stadium is huge and it's not easy to get to cheaply at short notice as it is in the UK mainland with over 60 million and all venues within easy reach of urban areas. The 3 Ed Sheeran shows the same week are a problem too. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Lucky Dips are not well known to the general public and largely remain 'our little secret'. I think most Dippers will do well but some are likely to end up in the nosebleeds.

So what would an experience Dipper recommend in picking up the tickets, go as early as possible or turn up rather late, or is it really only a lottery whether one neds up lucky or nosebleed with no way to influence your luck?

Good question.
I've always had better luck waiting until closer to show time, but rarely have the patience to do so. That said, I also believe it's totally random.

I did LD a few times and it was always random. In Spielberg we collected 4 pairs in a row and it was 1 pit, 1 diamond and 2 different grandstands. We were very early. Around 11 am. In Zurich we were early and got GA, others in front of us got pit and a friend came very late and got PIT.

they have the list before the show - you are picking up tickets and list with lucky dippers is prepared in box office long before concert. you can pick up tickets at 10 or 20 and it always will be same tickets as it was on this prepared list. in spielberg we were very early, i think the first people in the line and get "rafters", tribune. but we went to GA without problem. some people later had PIT. and woman showed us list with name of owners of the tickets, something like:
JOHN SMITH - ENGLAND, LONDON - GENERAL ADMISSION" etc.

Yes, they had the list before the show but they randomly took an sealed envelope out of a box in Spielberg. There is no name on the envelope. So nothing is predetermined.

No names on envelopes or tickets at Munich and Dusseldorf last year. Organisation of LDs seemed to be much more laissez faire last year than 2014.

I had four to pick up in Amsterdam, so assumed that I'd get two envelopes, each with two tickets in it. But they checked my name against a list and I was handed an envelope with four tickets in it.

For the very few of us that were able to take advantage of the glitch which allowed for *single* Lucky Dip purchases, I got an email today that both let me know that I indeed would only be receiving one ticket, and that at least for Manchester, that it would likely make no difference when I pick up..

"Congratulations on securing ticket for the Rolling Stones through the lucky dip!

We have noticed that you have purchased 1 ticket for their show.

Should you require a pair we will be calling you on the contact number provided at the time of booking from tomorrow until Monday next week between 9.00 am till 18.00 (excluding Saturday and Sunday), to offer the opportunity to purchase the extra ticket.

If we are unable to get hold of you, we will assume that you do only require a single ticket.

We would like use this opportunity to remind you the terms of your tickets:

• You must pick up your tickets in person, along with your guest. Once you have the tickets in hand, you will be escorted into the venue. There will not be an opportunity to leave with your tickets before going into the show

• Picture ID, your confirmation number, and the credit card used to make the purchase are required for pick-up. Without these things, you will not be able to pick up your tickets.

Yes - I got the same email twice because I bought a single lucky dip for two shows.

I also bought three lucky dips for another show - but no email (yet) asking me if I want to buy another one to round it up to four!
