Any news on ticket sales? I haven't seen any advertising in the Sunday papers so it would appear that all is going well.

RS Facebook now announcing "extra tickets released " !!!
Edinburgh still showing all 9 sections readily available.
Cardiff showing 9 sections also readily available.
Also majority of sections for first London date still available.
At least secondary agencies should suffer badly.

It wouldn't surprise me if Johnny Marr does Manchester. New album out soon.
He was 3rd top of the Bill when the Who did BST in Hyde Park 3 years ago (with several groups of IORRians present!). I thought he was excellent. Hopefully that will be a recurring them for the 9 British Isles shows : a high profile local act to increase local interest. I think think the Specials are an inspired choice for Coventry.

The tour starts in just over five weeks' time and there are still all these tickets available...
It's great news as far as agencies go in that their profits will be given a good kicking as you point out.

yes, but look at these
cardiff on tmaster
coventry on tmaster
and use the big + sign to enlarge image - this will show you what tickets tmaster have for sale. not actually that many.
for the other venues you can only scroll through the list of available blocks and rows. there are pit tickets and GC it is true, but relatively few seats all things considered.
difficult to know until show day. but looking at what blocks you can buy on TM and what the RS.com site offers you, there are few blocks being sold now.
my hunch is that the shows are well over 75%, may be 80% sold ... and there will be enough sales in the next few weeks to make it look pretty close to sold out on the day. i wdn't worry, Mick and co will be fine. and if there are fewer GC tickets sold and they let the GAs nearer the stage, fine by me!

Ticketmaster only sells overpriced, so called "Platinum", tickets. The primary seller for the GB shows is axs.com and they don't have a seating plan. But the fact that you can buy tickets for nearly all categories for all shows is really really bad. Not even the cheapest categories have sold at many places. You can get GA tickets for nearly every show. I think this is a really bad sign. In Germany the sales are slow too but the GA tickets all were sold out after the presale.
Not true for France. On the TM site you can exactly see how many tickets are for sale. I think around 2 or 3 thousand max. Of course other sellers (Gdp.fr, fnackspecyacles.fr also have their left over tickets. But I would say 75% at least is sold...
By the way, just checked Berlin (event.de). 73 PIT A tickets and 53 PIT B tickets available!! They will never sell those at those sick prices, so they'll probably end up in the LD envelopes!
