Thank YOU for the tour IORRians
Posted by: TE ()
Date: July 9, 2018 07:21

I only managed 3 shows.

BUT a great Thank/Fhank you to all those who managed to fill us in with reports/videos/live broadcast and all those photos at the report page.
Heck, sometimes it felt like being there.

Reports...
Have to start with Dean. Thank you. I always start with your report. You are not shy. Hey, if the boys have a bad day (not this tour), you will write it down.
Then Bjørnulf. Love the way you put the words to it.
All the other reports too, fun to read the different opinions!

Hauke, Neil(Latvian in Excile), Hendrik and Bjørnulf.
A pleasure to watch all your photos.

So, 'till the next time - Fhank you all!!!
Can't see a reason why the boys should stop now.
If Charlie's back survive, and Mick's voice, we should have some more fun!

A great summer! Can we get some colder weather now?
Think the weather in Norway has ruined Bjørnulf's strawberry plans...
It's only R 'n R - One love

And almost forgot...
Cristiano Radtke & bye bye johnny for digging up, searching hash tags to find those great photos during the show.
When you have those two, you don't bother searching yourself.
Way too many people to thank. Still on my first coffee.

Bet others can come up with more names.

There were loads of IORRians in attendance last night. My gig buddy was Wild Sliwowitz and we queued up and nailed down a spot on the rail.

I also saw several others, includIng seasoned campaigner PaulyWaul. So funny when we all know one another better by our IORR handles than our given names grinning smiley

So true, think I only know 10 or so by the real name.
Fun to scream out the IORR handles to someone 10 meters away. 20 other people looking at you.. "And what did you smoke..." LOL

Hello,

Nice words TE: I second that emotion!

I was at two shows but it felt terrific to follow and enjoy the rest of them through IORRian eyes. Top work y’all!

Cheers,

Simon.

The people on this site - and the ones who run this site - are awesome! Travelling solo to a bunch of shows can be a drag, but the welcoming IORR clan - open, generous, knowledgeable, hilarious and obsessed - really make the whole experience. (Yeah, yeah, the Boys help...). Thanks to all - you know who you are - it was so great to meet you, and hope to see you next time!

Many thanks indeed!
The info and tips shared by many here made everything from getting tickets to the shows to getting tickets to the trains, and everything in between, so much easier!! Seems most everything I did on my mini- four show UK visit was helped or made possible by helpful posters here. From food and hotels, to other concerts, plays and areas of interest, invaluable info!!
Extremely grateful for all the help!

Also great to meet so many of you on the road.
Till the next time..

It was a fantastic 11 days for me, meeting people I've know for years (thru Social media) for the first time in person, (and some for the 2nd time).
*3 great shows with the Stones
*Attending the IORR show at the Hope & Anchor
*Seeing the Rollin' Stoned in Belfast
*Going on several day tours
*Irish Whiskey tours
*Guinness tours
*Visiting Matt's place
*Hanging out with Stones fans from various countries (Lesson learned, never try to outdrink a German!) drinking smileysmileys with beerdrinking smiley
*...and the Indian Food

Hope to se many of you again on the next tour, especially if there is a Southern California stop.

It was great to follow some of the shows on here live, the photos were and are awesome, the info in advance of the three shows I attended in person was invaluable.
Big thanks to all who posted reviews and especially to BV. Loved his blogs, especially in the UK - always fun to see your country through the eyes of an informed and enthusiastic traveller. Till next time in Europe ...

No official numbers (attendances, grosses) from No Filter 2, yet? I see nothing on Billboard's Boxscore. Just curious...

Amen. Before the Thank You thread disappears into the anonymity of Page 87 of the general thread, I'd like to add my appreciation. So much fun always to be there, and this time also the joy of being there in person three times, as well as being front-of-computer-screen.

Do you know if one of the shows was recorded with professional cameras, recorders etc? If they will release one of the shows, same as Sweet Summer Sun or Havana Moon?

Thanks for the link bye bye johnny..

Interesting stats.
If they listed the per show gross instead of combining multiple shows, the whole No Filter 2 tour would likely dominate the list.

Of the stones shows listed, the average gross is well over 10 million per show-
(London Stadium- 10 mil+, Berlin- 12 mil+, Twickenham- 12 million+, Marseille- 9 million +) Interesting to see the whole tour data when it comes out.

Not sure if being near the top or #1 in total gross is considered a good thing or something to be proud of.
Doesn't it just reflect the fact that on average the tickets were the most expensive?

Ed Sheeran had top average gross with $80 ticket average.

Sounds fair of Ed Sheeran, but as Mister DDDD mentioned: "If they listed the per show gross instead of combining multiple shows, the whole No Filter 2 tour would likely dominate the list"

So would dominating a list of "per show gross" be considered a good thing for the fans? Or isn't it a reflection of the Stones' higher ticket prices?

I'm not a statistician (and not very fond of math in general), but seems the higher gross per show would equate to higher ticket prices depending on how many are in attendance and/or actual tickets sold.

Every tour it seems there are so many doubters that they can fill stadiums at their prices. Every tour the answer is a resounding yes. Amazing really.

That said, putting my own personal financial interest aside, I think it's fantastic that they can still smoke the competition in top grossing shows.

Rooting for their continued financial success = rooting for more shows.

Ed Sheeran had top average gross with $80 ticket average.

Shearan's top grossing show grossed 6,650,000 compared to the stones highest gross of 12,113,000. Almost double. Berlin's average ticket price for the Stones was just over $180.

While I am rooting for more shows, I'm also rooting for them to scale down a bit on the outrageous pricing and give back to the fans for a change vs. stuffing their own bank accounts.
Doubt it will happen though, and you'll have more reasons to celebrate their fantastic financial domination while they continue to smoke the competition in the future.

Their highest listed of $180 average price per ticket- which is about what I paid for four shows (2 GC, 2- LD) is a bargain imo.

Course, I say that realizing $180 per show isn't affordable for all fans, and am grateful they offer Lucky Dips and GA (both great options) for well below that for those unable or unwilling. Not gonna stop the constant complainers though.
