Now, it's Wrigley's extra as that just about all you can get in the UK.....(They seem to have destroyed the competition.........

As for the 'why?'...........it's probably just to stop his mouth drying out........stop him coughing instead of singing...(chewing gum emulates chewing food which automatically produces saliva to start the digestion process.......

But, if he ever gets phlegm in the throat, he (or anyone) should just think about a lemon as this produces the thin saliva which breaks it down.
(I was told this by an ENT specialist - it works - although if you have a real lemon to hand - all the better........

I bet Mick wished that Ronnie and Keith chewed gum...

As for Mick, maybe it's throat lozenger as he's susceptible to getting sore throats these days.
