I noticed it indeed a lot too, but never bothered thinking about it. Now you have this question, my guess (weakly based on some old docu stuff) is, that it is not "just gum". I guess it may be some "gum" with an extract for his voice. We all know that he had some occasional problems (laryngitis) in the past and in order to reduce the chances, maybe some medicine ?

As for Mick, maybe it's throat lozenger as he's susceptible to getting sore throats these days.

It's an extract of peyote that's softened thru a process that does not use combinants or additives, other than adderall and a trace of hypnotic tranquilizer
just to smooth it all out. Then some high THC content sativa for a litte extra 'pop,'....wait...thats MY gum...sorry

but maybe there IS some honey or lemon; some throat-soothing ingredient, but i tend to doubt it.
You think he does it to ward-off nerves instead of smoking?
Maybe it helps to stretch his mouth and face muscles;
he is a dramatic stage artist as well as a singer....
he IS super nuts about prep.

actually come to think of it; i'm sure he has to 'warm uo'
his face, mouth and tongue, that's a LOT of lyrics to get thru in a show;
probably stage actors use these every night... ??
