Really, the only coverage we got to see was moguls, figure skating and a ton of commercials. I've been flipping over the CBC the Canadian station hoping for some coverage. They usually cover a lot more than NBC.

Although the tv coverage (or lack thereof) drives me crazy sometimes, I fully expect to watch many sporting events that I wouldn't watch if it weren't the Olympics. I probably would have watched "team figure skating" last night if it weren't for the fact that the Celtics were on an opposing channel (We won in OT! smiling smiley).

Go USA!

Go World!

Peace,
Mr DJA

So the Russians have to compete under the Olympic symbol and no anthem if they win gold due to the doping scandal. Flag waving is only permitted by spectators. Does everyone agree with that?

Winter Olympics, - isn't that the games where Norway wins all the medals?

(Sicilian: Serves them only right. We're talking about a state doping country.)

I thought I heard someone say that Norway has won the most gold medals in the Winter Olympics during the opening ceremonies. Is that true?

As for Russia, do you really believe that all the athletes were implicit in the doping?

that's just ridiculous and everybody knows the real reason behind that. Just politics at its lowest level.

Not all athletes of course. But the doping was state sanctioned. Like it was in the old Eastern bloc. That doesn't mean that there aren't doping in other countries as well.
But not in the same magnitude as in Russia (or Russian buffer states).

If you add numbers 3 ad 10 you'll have Germany in the lead.
This common Corean team is making headlines. There was a common German Team from 1956 (Germans were not allowed to participate in 1948 and 1952 due to WW II) until 1964.
So, it is quite remakable that the East German medals were gained in a period between 1968 and 1988. German Doping Republic, of course...
