Politically correct Stones songs?
Posted by: Starr ()
Date: February 4, 2018 18:53

In this politically correct, sensitive new age should we not maybe think about asking the Stones to re-name some of their songs?

A few suggestions here below:-

Jumping Jacqueline Flash
Honky Tonk Persons
He Was Hot
Stupid People
Trans-person Jane
Have You Seen Your Single Parent Baby Standing In The Shadows
Parachute Person
Street Fighting People
Factory Persons
Dance little sibling

These above are just a few ideas and maybe other members would like to suggest some new titles?

"..till the next time..."

(now a song bemoaning fans who objectify artists sexually, as Objects,
and do NOT pay attention to their intellectual and other faculties of person-hood)

I know you are not serious, but seeing this sentence I can't help commenting it: political correctness has nothing to do with sensitivity. It is a hypocrisy at its ugliest. Well, in my opinion.

Are we in a politically correct age? I think we could argue the opposite is happening now, so we could potentially go 'less politically correct'.

In that spirit, I'll start...

Fiji Jim is NOT politically correct - the reason why it remains unreleased (although better than much of the 2011 bonus disc).

The irony here being that people who are so upset about political correctness, apparently are the ones who are hurt by mere words. Typically, these people are most often male and white, and getting hurt by words is a first for them.

These people often confuse using words to discriminate others with free speech as well.

They're not confused...they simply lack empathy and get their kicks by hurting other people (borderline psychopathy).

I don't get that - (must have missed out on some controversy, in them days...)

What's (so) incorrect about "Fiji Jim"?!

Plus (& as a matter of fact, since the title is quoted here as the main reason "why it remains unreleased"): why would "Stupid Girl " and/or "Bitch " and/or ... be any better?

Personaly, I'm not offended by ANY of these... I just can't see what's so incorrect about a reference to some 'Jim from Fiji'.

Or isn't it just about the title?
Don't see anything offensive in the lyrics either, though.

Myself, certainly not.

This thread touches the highest peaks of stupidity, imho.

Kindly stop it, it's already begun to pain.
