Clearly Buddy loves Jeff Beck (and vice versa) as they've toured and collaborated/recorded together many times in the past.
Here's a video of Buddy with Jeff and his band, and they're both having a ball and giving it there all.
( *And Jeff is a bit more subtle here as there's no bombastic mid-80's arcade games sounds that he's so fond of on this one lol winking smiley ):
Buddy Guy w/Jeff Beck - Let Me Love You Baby

And Buddy's original version from 1961
Buddy Guy - Let Me Love You Baby (1961)

And his 1991 remake from Damn Right I Got the Blues album which also features other tunes with Beck, Clapton, and Knopfler - though this one is all Buddy. thumbs up

Impressive playing by Keith! Loved the descending jazzy lines in the middle of his solo.

Yes I caught that too. Never heard Keith playing that sequence before.

Would have been nice to have Keith on a different track - as it is, hard to fully appreciate amidst all the fireworks aka "Jeff Beck's nonpareil virtuosity" as FancyBluesMan put it.

Album Review: Buddy Guy – The Blues is Alive and Well

Redbrick's Matt Hooper divulges exactly how Buddy Guy's new album manages to toe the line between tradition and innovation

"Guy also proves that the blues is a permanent fixture in the music industry by attracting legends of rock ‘n’ roll, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, guitar hero Jeff Beck, and new talent with James Bay.

"Richards and Beck jam with Guy on ‘Cognac’, combining their guitar styles to create an exciting piece of music celebrating the beauty and freedom of the blues. Jagger, meanwhile, provides bluesy harmonica licks over a slow, swung piano track on ‘You Did the Crime’, offering a refreshing change to the fast-paced mean blues progressions that make up most of the album.

This soulful tone is a perfect encapsulation of the blues, with Guy’s lyrics expressing the troubles of being wrongfully accused. Whilst many may dismiss this as a recurring blues trope, it must be appreciated that these tropes make up the genre which inspired rock, hip-hop, and country, to name just a few."

Buddy is the greatest guitarist alive and, in my opinion, the greatest stage performer alive except for Michael Philip Jagger.

Like Mick, Buddy is so incredibly vital, and like Mick's, Buddy's voice is still incredibly strong ... on his new album his voice is as strong as ever.

Like with Mick and the rest of the Stones, we have in Buddy not a mere mortal, but rather a God walking amongst us.

He is one of those weird hypersupersonic-electromagnomonic forces that we cannot begin to understand.

A GOD!!!!!!!

You wanna know what genius looks like????? Real mutha-fukkin GENIUS??? Then check this shit out: [www.youtube.com]

This track just gets better every time I listen.

And I just noticed that Mick says "Yeah!" at the 4:12 mark. Love it.

So glad Buddy got the Grammy.

Hairball thanks for the links above to "Let Me Love You, Baby."
I really enjoy the first one with Buddy, Jeff Beck and of course, Beck's bass player at the time, Tal Wilkenfeld.

Just had the CD from my local library. I didn't know who was playing on what track when I played it in the car on a long drive. Just jotted down the number of the song to put on ITunes later. Cognac was one of the four cuts I kept, but You Did the Crime must not have impressed. I don't even remember hearing Mick sing. Will have to go back.

You ain't gonna hear Mick's voice (except when he mutters "Yeah!" at the 4:12 mark) but his glorious harp is all over it. Give it a few chances ... it's a gem!
