Seriously I still think it's from 73 or more precisely I don't think it's from 76 or 77. So it's either from 73 or 74 (maybe it's from early December'74 therefore it has a minor historical value for us super-fans).

Haha...
Well my guess of 74 is out then!
Although it could be before he went crazy with hair dye!
Looks very "druggie" 73-74 to me...

From the few pictures that are available during the John Philips' recording's(1977), Keith doesn't look like he does on "the picture". On the Papa John's era pix, Keith has short hair, he is skinny as a rail, looking like he was going to die soon.
Let's that investigation keep on going!
Rockandroll,
Mops

Agreed. That has always been my take on the John Phillips pics - that Keith looked ready to keel over. That shot of JP and Keith on the bed; you can just smell the spoons burning.

If you check out John Philips biography, he talks quite a bit about recording with Keef. And it's 'highly' entertaining. Papa John could also give our beloved Rollin' Stones a run for their money in the debauched rock n roll star type lifestyle.

"Could" might be the keyword here...

I knew that I had seen the pic.
It is from the post show party after Earl's Court Show in London '76.
Not sure how to post a pic; but from NME; Mike Putland.

A HUGE DIFFERENCE! This is the Stones for the love of Keiths hair in 1976.

1976? Then we can start a caption contest!

Here's mine :

MT (speaking softly) : "I just saw the show... and frankly... you sucked!"
KR (angry) : "Shut up! You brought something to snort?"

No, RedHot, do you remember JeanMarie, and the great magazines he would put together? I wasn't looking for this pic. I been doing this massive clean-up of rooms where I usually hang out. They are a incredible mess. But the good thing about it is that I find myself going through all these books I hadn't opened in a long time. In the 76 Tour book by Jean Marie I see the photo. It's actually taken a few seconds after this one here.

Many thanks Palace! Great finding. I remember him, never bought the books but they seemed like must-haves. Do we know if he was right about the year? I believe he was.

Here an interesting link, it provides some more information, and the picture apparently was taken during these sessions:

"After Mick Taylor played a tremendous solo on 'Oh Virginia,' Keith turned to him and said, 'Now I know why I never liked you!'"
lol
True enough; 'oh virginia' lay there like a rug until Taylor's fluid biting solo.

Didnt His Majesty also have some (lots of) clips from that era? I seem to remember the "ghost of Brian" capture from your vault HM.
