I suspect it's someone else's hand...which begs further questions:

- Who's hand is it?
- Why are they smoking too?
- Is there a more complete photo that shows this mystery person? If so, where is it? If not, why not??

Could be someone else's hand, but looks like his to me...could be a spliff in his right hand and a cigarette in his left!
Whatever the case, Keith looks a bit puzzled...thinking "I just lit the cigarette in your left hand for you , and now you want me to light the one in your right hand too"?

Wasn't Keith's hair longer on 73 tour?
I wonder if this is from a time when Taylor had already left the Stones.
Except for the bit of Mascara Keith looks almost 78'-ish. And Taylor looked his best during the 'leaving years' - 75-79

Looks like post 1975 to me. Taylor looks different. My guess is the John Phillips sessions.

Picture seems end of seventies. Keith has still the fragile look, by comparison with the more "muscle" look of 1981. Taylor is older than any of the picture of his Stones'tenure.

Other hypothesis - they are dressed liked they could play a gig. I remember Richards showing up in a Taylor's club show in 1986..

It looks 70s to me and Keith is looking to another person with a drink and cigarette.

No i vote 1976. Scarf, jacket shirt, hair, make up, haunted look (yes, he looked terrified in 1976)

I believe it is 1973. It has to be during a tour more likely for them to hang out together in a bar/restaurant, so 1975 Taylor was gone and in 1972 their faces were different. It is a guess anyway.

Thought for sure someone here would be able to pin down the answer of this mystery photo by now, but I'll go with 1976..

It is 1976 judging by Keiths hair and Taylors appearance. I always assumed 1973 but never looked closer.

Yes, definitely not '73. I'm thinking '74, though? Mick Taylor had pretty long hair at that time, and Keith's was shorter than in '73.

The scarf is the same as this one (Rockman's avatar image), I think:



But now I'm starting to think that's the same scarf as he had so much in '72:

But I think the picture with Taylor is definitely from before '78.

The story behind the picture?Keith and Mick T.met in a bar.Both look like they are using. If they were high may be not much was said. They survived and that is great.

Keith's look is the same as the Black & Blue photo shoot timeframe IMO.

Have seen this picture before. I guess '76-'77. Could be anywhere

And Keith sort of looks younger so sure could be 74. Taylor looked skinnier in 74 though. Actually i still dont think Keiths face looked like that in 76 despite my earlier post. Late 74?

Hmmm...good question - I don't know. Must have put the wrong location after looking through a bunch of Keith pics - oops.
I found that particular pic in the Telegraph after typing in "Keith Richards 1976" via google search.

Yes, no doubt in my mind about that. Keith definitely is not looking at whatever it is Taylor is doing in that moment.
