Stones songs for the Winter season?
Posted by: Elmo Lewis ()

Need 15 or so songs to put on a Stones Wintertime CD.

"Winter", of course. "Till The Next Goodbye" mentions snow - the real kind. "Moonlight Mile" mentions the other kind.

What else?

"She's So Cold" could fit in there!

The B-side of "Tattoo You". For some reason I always thought it's music for cold rainy days where you want to stay inside and feel comfy.

Walking Thru the Sleepy City

(haven't listened to it in a while, I am almost sure lyrics point to it being colder weather at some point)

Run Run Rudolph! Good for the first week of winter at least, until Christmas.

Found them online ... Maybe a stretch, but this to me implies winter:

"No one sees the city lights
they just care about the warmth inside"

I don't care if your love grows cold
Found love in someone else's home
Don't like standin' in the snow
Everything's turning to gold

I'm glad I opened your eyes
The have-nots would have tried
To freeze you in ice

I must've been foolish
I must've been blind
I must've been crazy
And out of my mind

For so long

And minutes turned to hours
And hours turned into days
The storm started howling
I'm out of my brain
I'm out of my brain

For so long

And the fall turned into winter
The winter turned into rain
The storm kept on a-howling
I'm out of my brain
I'm out of my brain
I'm out of my mind

For so long - for so long
For so long
So long
So long, yeah mm yeah

I'm out of my mind for so long

I felt a mighty rumble
Coming from the ground
The house it started shaking
And tumbling down
And tumbling down

For so long
For so long

I must've been crazy
I must've been blind
I must've been foolish
I'm out of my mind
Out of my mind

For so long
For so long
For so long - so long
For so long

Mm-mmm

Uh huh huh
So many days
Uh huh huh
So many days

Everyone in town remembers the last hurricane
Everyone in town hopes it won't happen again

Oh how it shrieks
Days turn into weeks
'Cause nobody knew which way the wind blew

But oh how it shrieks
Days turn into weeks
'Cause nobody knows which way the wind blows

Everyone in town remembers the last hurricane
Everyone in town hopes it doesn't happen again

'Cause oh how it shrieks
Days turn into weeks
And nobody knew, no one in town knew
Which way the wind blew

In the winter, when the cold comes
And the wind blows with a scornful spite
And the hard ground feels barren
And the forest seem deathly quiet

And the whole world lies sleeping
There's a gypsy all dressed in white

Mmm...

Put my hand out, ask the question
Here's the silver, do you have the gift of sight?

Can you break the spell?
Can you ring the bell?
Can you break the spell?
It's cold black as night

I've got a hard heart
Since we've been apart
Can you break the spell?
Break it all down tonight

In the springtime, when the floods come
And the earth bursts with a terrible life
And the sun splash on the window
There's a gypsy and he's all dressed in white

And my heart burns with the question
Can you break the spell? Still hot as fire

Can you break the spell?
Can you ring the bell?
Can you break the spell?
It's cold black as night out

Oh...
Cold black as night

Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Ah ya, ya ya....

Ooh the storm is threatening
My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Oh yeah, I'm going to fade away
