OT: Jerry Lee Lewis - Last Man Standing

Interesting read re JLL and rock'n'roll. KR gets a mention. Beside Little Richard, who else may still be around from the first generation of rockers? I can name Wanda Jackson, but who else? Does Pat Boone count?

Recently published: 123 Rock Stars Over 70

It's not a complete list but it's obviously a large list. Jerry Lee Lewis is #3 on the list. Bill Wyman is #4. Frankie Valli & Little Richard are #2 & #1 respectively.

Peace,
Mr DJA

Joe Brown is 76 and still tours.
On stage he is always proud to say The Beatles were his support act in 1962, he says he always knew they would come good....

A bit sad.

not really he's 86 and still wants to create music

seems like he's enjoing himself

doesn't look like he's being forced to do it

on another note what i find sad is he never guested at any stones shows (as far as i know)

he would've been great on tumbling dice or honky tonk woman

as would've little richard on its only rock n' roll or all down the line or something

and whats crazy is he's just a little over a year older then bill!

Yes it's great that he's 86 and still wants to create music, and seems like he's enjoying himself, and of course no one is forcing him...
But it's a bit sad to see the ravages of time, and to be reminded that time waits for no one...not even The Killer.
God bless Jerry Lee Lewis.

Considering the wild life Jerry Lee has had, he's actually 172 years old and still able to sing.

I’m surprised he can still play after his stroke.

Is that THE Jimmy Swaggart, TV Evangelist who got caught with his pants down twice in the 80's or 90's?

Linda Gail Lewis on Facebook:
"Please pray for my dear brother, he’s going thru a hard time and needs our prayers and postive thoughts right now. Thank you so much "

I hope The Killer will be alright!

He never guested at any Stones show but played Little Queenie and Whole Lotta Shakin' with Keith and Mick Fleetwood in 1983 in a TV special (available on vinyl bootlegs).

It's been wrongly reported that he has died. Well, he hasn't, although Linda Gail's Facebook request for prayers is worrying.
