After seeing the magnificent stained glass windows in Paris/ No Filter Trip,
I have been studying.
Imagine my thrill this morning discovering
renaissance man and Bass extraordinaire
Bill Wyman
had a friendship (!)
and book collaboration with Marc Chagall!

I ordered the book from Bill Wyman’s website:

Description
Wyman Shoots Chagall is a unique book about Marc Chagall, born of an unlikely meeting between two artists who had achieved greatness in their respective fields. This charming limited edition volume about Chagall and Chagall paintings, restricted to 1,500 copies worldwide, presents the portrait photography and extensive reminiscences of the former Rolling Stones bass player Bill Wyman. Every copy is signed by Bill Wyman and individually numbered.

Wyman Shoots Chagall is accompanied by a special CD of solo recordings made by Bill Wyman in the early Eighties at the time he knew Marc Chagall. Featured are Chagall Suite, a series of linked orchestral pieces composed by Bill with Mike Batt and recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra, which have never been commercially released; and Nuclear Reactions, Bill Wyman’s futuristic pop song about astronomy, a passion he shared with Chagall.

*Receive a free copy of ‘The Stones – A History In Cartoons’ with every order of ‘Wyman Shoots Chagall’, for a limited time only!

This item will be sent out by signed and tracked mail.*One complimentary ‘The Stones – A History in Cartoons’ per customer/order

60 pounds costs to England folks, add shipping to USA, I am calling it $100.

What an extraordinary find for me!

I wanted to share and btw it looks like Amazon is selling it $350. not signed w/ extras.

Thank You Bill Wyman. Marc Chagall has captivated me, and I much looking forward.

Chagall! My favourite artist!

Rapidly becoming mine, the more I explore his work.

Have you seen any of his windows? I have not, and am in the USA.
If my 12 year old wasn’t extremely difficult to travel,
I would love to go see this with my others/ myself.
Stunning work/ a true artist genius.
ETA: meant to include link to Chicago American Windows

I am so excited for my book, trying not to find snatches of Bill Wymans story with Chagall online and spoil it, but for anyone already familiar,
I wonder what would have happened had Bill brought ‘Sticky Fingers’ specifically
‘Can’t You Hear Me Knocking’ to Chagall instead of Santantic Magesties Request album over? Ha ha ha
P.S.
This is a very rare slice of insight into Chagall IMO.

Or, USA has the The Union Church in N.Y. Hudson Valley

Bill Wyman my heart is bursting toward you.
What a gift this book I am stunned,
I spent 20 minutes taking photo’s of front, back (A Chagall drawing of Bill and Marc faces dated together during relationship period) which is Chagall’s end of life- when he was quiet, content, and masterfully still proficient.

I am currently reading the biography of Marc Chagall
‘Chagall’ by Jackie Wullschlager (excellent)
and it is a timely read as I look up paintings as chronologically layed out in the book, I am at years 1917-1920.

I wish to somehow get it conveyed to Bill Wyman how surreal and joyful I find this—

No problems. Go to [billwyman.com] and scroll down right to the bottom of the page, and there's an email address for Ripple Productions.

I'm reasonably confident that any polite message sent to that email address will reach The Man.

I do not know how to post pics on here (probably best)

I am smiling with 2 Bill Wyman books on Marc Chagall
I finally get to start as I finished up the book
‘Chagall’ by Jackie Wullschlage
and it’s been intense the history and art input.

The 2nd book came today
‘Chagall’s World’
Reflections From The Mediterranean
Conversations with Andre Verdet
Portrait Photography by Bill Wyman

Bill Wyman has been on my mind. I think of him noting to Marc Chagall
The Rolling Stones being THE original, real deal
and how I wish I could have expanded on that gushing and regaling with light in my eyes to Marc Chagall...

P.S.
I feel moved as such a huge RS fan to have this unexpected discovery about Bill Wyman, and getting his books- I did write on his FB wall,
but now need to actually OPEN AND READ THE BOOKS, LOL. Like a gift I’m saving,
thank you Bill Wyman!

I tried to find it but my sister must have inherited it from our mother. Our parents had books on and by Chagall, including his wife. In at least one of it there is a quote that Chagall enjoyed the visits by and talking with Bill who lived nearby and his photography skills. Plus: Chagall knew the Rolling Stones at least by name and was ready to welcome one of them at his place.

I finished both Bill Wyman books re: Marc Chagall.
Wonderful photographs by Bill capturing Chagall’s animated face,
the colors in the book of stained glass windows were better than viewing them online!
And lastly, I was surprised at the interview! My opinion before reading André Verdet’s question and answer sessions
was formed by the biography by author Jackie Wullschlage, whom the NYT did mention in their review that it seemed to be slightly unfavorably slanted towards Chagall’s personality,
but reading his actual answers to long, exacting questions at the age of >80
he was sage, listed off names and works of other artists with a few one of a kind artistic reviews, etc.
BRAVO Bill Wyman, you have done your friend Marc Chagall a tremendous service/ portrait.

I knew a late cousin of Chagall's who'd point to Chagalls in art galleries and say, "That one's a fake."
