Damn it.

If anybody deserved to be in the RnR HoF, it was Rick Hall. He should have had an induction WHEN HE WAS ALIVE.

I wish I could have met him and shook his hand.

When Muscle Shoals played at the theater I manage, I put his name up on the marquee, because I was a fan and I thought he deserved the star treatment. I took a photo of that and sent it to the film's distributor.

I sure hope he got to see that pic.

RIP Mr. Rick Hall.

i met Rick in 2004 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. He and his wife sat and watched the Muscle Shoals portion of Gimme Shelter with me in my office. It was a great meeting. He admired the Stones and hated that Jimmy Johnson diverted them away from FAME studios to the casket factory - his words, not mine.

RIP

MS was riveting movie with so many great stories but quite a bit of "darkness" too, how he was raised in the woods, how he had this major feud with a close former associate, the leader of the former house band possibly ?

So true! It was because of Him and the Stones we came to Muscle Shoals last year to check out the studios and now, whadaya know, we're living here in the Shoals! Great town, so many musicians here (too many to count) and so much other good music from here.. The more I talk with locals the more I realize just how important Mr. Hall was to rock n roll history
