Arena - Philadelphia - is it worth to buy a parking ticket?

This is the first time we will drive in USA, instead of taking a taxi.

Is it worth to buy a parking ticket with Ticketmaster?

I guess it depends on how much Ticketmaster is charging and what they're providing.

Regular parking spots on the arena grounds are probably going to cost between $10 and $20. Also, there are several parking lots on the side streets within a couple of blocks of the arena that will charge between $5 and $10. These lots, in addition to being cheaper, will have less traffic for you to sit in when the show is over.

In other words, parking at/near the arena is abundant and very easy to find. You won't have a problem driving up, finding a lot, paying $5 to $20, and walking a short distance.

I'm assuming that the Ticketmaster pass allows you to drive right up to the front door and have your car parked by an attendant. While that sounds nice, it's by no means necessary.

The only bad thing about "outside" small parking lots is that the Wachovia Center doesn't get your money...and sometimes, the police are extra diligent about what happens in them. In Boston on the Licks Tour (2nd night), there were many mini malls offering parking for a few dollars right down the road from Gillette Stadium. The newspaper reported that the cops rolled into them all, one at a time, and busted several people in each lot for smoking herb. Nobody bothered me or anyone else in the stadium lot. Not trying to make you paranoid, just beware!!!

That's funny. I've been to several events at Foxborough -- I lived in Boston for a few years -- and I always felt that the cops in Foxborough pretty much have nothing better to do than slink around and bust people for smoking pot and peeing in the parking lot.

But you're unlikely to have that problem in Philly. The cops here will have their hands full with far more serious crimes!
