I'm going to share my most likely unpopular opinion. Our idols are stupid and blinded by money and legacy. Personally I think they should release and share as much as possible and not depend on the future. Maybe they're delusional and think it's going to matter 50 years from now. I say look at Elvis and others, still big yes but as much as you believed possible today?. Even The Beatles are losing some steam, dare I say it. You can choose not to believe this if you like. All things considered (in the present tense) I would like to say I feel honored and privileged to be alive in this special "Rock And Roll" moment of history of the world. It's a blessing of sorts, somehow we're lucky! That's what I feel in my heart.

Yes it appeared Keith was playing and posing directly in front of the camera person way more than usual during the Paris shows. So I suspect the shows were being filmed. I agree with Plexi, the second show was the better. The setlist was also a tad better but, of course, that’s personal taste. I came away from the third show feeling they rushed through it but still a great show.

If indeed they do release one of the shows, or a compilation on video, Hopefully
a couple of the rare tunes will make the cut - such as “Rainbow”, “Mr. D” and
maybe all three of the Blue and lonesome tracks they played during the three
shows.

And it was thanks to swimtothemoon that i got a pit ticket for the second show! Well, it was good that Keith was posing directly in front of the videographer as that's where I was and it enabled me to get a few decent fotos of him. Did u c my fotos on Facebook, Tom?

Hey Plexi. Yes you had a great spot directly on the rail. I remember Keith
putting on quite a show right in front of you -all his classic poses! I was maybe
three rows back but just one or two people from the center runway. So much fun
and it was great to get to know you. I will check out your facebook and send you
a couple of my shots as well. I’ll drop you an email and we can catch up.

If they were to just do an EP, or offer tracks online, that aren't the usual, I'd consider it. I thought they did Dancing With Mr D pretty good. But I sure don't need another stupid live album of the same damn songs.

I see gas light Street‘s point but I do not agree at all, because when they play with the passion that they seem to be playing that night, it’s so exciting to see them really come together, and that is very rare. I feel exactly the same way when we get the umpteenth live collection… Especially now when they’re this age But these concerts really seemed to be different.

The whole second show has been taped. On my pic you can clearly see the two cameras.Cross my fingers to get that one on a forthcoming DVD/BR, but my guess is that they will mix the best of the 3 shows.

Those 2 cameramen were ALWAYS present and have filmed ALL shows.

What was extra in Paris is (at least) 1 extra camera man with a handheld camera filming crowd and bigger parts of songs.

Also, I had not seen the onstage rotating cameras before. Those are visible on HMN's picture above: left of the right stage camera man, on the floor. Looks like a toilet paper tube on a foot - commanded from a distance. There was at least one on each side of the stage and on the catwalk.

With exception to Start Me Up on FLASHPOINT, the live releases have gotten to be a bit stale. Somehow they spared us with not including JJF etc on NO SECURITY. So from 1991 to 2004 was a good while to not have the same ol' put out (although JJF is not on LIVE LICKS for some reason).

SHINE A LIGHT 4 years later... SWEET SUMMER SUN, HAVANA MOON. They all sound the same!

There's no reason to expect it to be any different. The last live album I bought was SHINE A LIGHT and it's just completely disappointing. I've listened to SSS and HM on Spotify...

If they do release a live album from the NO FILTER tour hopefully, along with Dancing With Mr D, Ride 'em On Down, Just Your Fool, Sweet Virginia and Under My Thumb, they'll include Midnight Rambler on it.

talking bout the unheard livealbums and that they all sound the same.me personally think that no live record of the band can bring back the feelin of a night with the stones, yaya s and a few excepted. our band stands for the moment, and thats the wonder of the last Grande Tour.
sittin here playin the 2 wonderland boxes endlessly, makesme think how long ago, was it, that i had enjoyed shows in that way. the playing was so spontaneous, the pace and the groove of these european shows was so unbelievably great.
it got nothin to do with virtuosity, my first show was frankfurt 73 an that was virtuosity, but when i hear the boots of that show it sounds stale, but when i hear düsseldorf from this year, they were dancing on the edge, just hear that rambler, when theres that little " come on into my kitchen" after that the band gets lost.
yesterday i enjoyed this recordings with an old stones friend and he said after hearing that. " you know in 68, they make a deal with the devil, can start a new and have great success forever, but the price for that, was that they must play forever till they die, they can t stop till drop."
on every show on that tour there were moments of the greatest beauty a musican can archive, if he s 74 is not the question, the wonder is that you got that going. me, i was only in düsseldorf but that was a great great pleasure and to quote good old frank, i am deeply thankful for that. greetings gerhard

My point is that I agree with most of the posts above, that they have sounded the same on so many tours, but they just gradually got slower and slower. I used to think it was Charlies age, but now I think it was the way Keith probably plays because I think probably that determines the pace of the songs, but I think when you watch the band playing streetfighting man, and watch the interaction of Ronnie and Keith, hearing Charlies drum work, and watching Mick Hitting the cymbal behind Charlie, and listening to midnight rambler, you begin to understand, I think perhaps why they called this tour no filter, because it feels like this group of men, and very old man at that have decided to take off the filters, even if it’s on songs we heard many times before, which is why it’s such a pleasure. I also agree that I think the new songs that they played on this tour, and the stuff from blue and lonesome was also particularly exciting.

SHINE A LIGHT 4 years later... SWEET SUMMER SUN, HAVANA MOON. They all sound the same!

Some rambling thoughts from a relatively recent Stones fan:

No Security: pleasantly surprised, didn't think I'd like it as there's a bunch of recent material on it, but it's a refreshing album, flows nicely.

Flashpoint: I love the sound, the production rocks harder than that on the Live from Tokyo Dome and the Atlantic City boot. But it's a shame that it doesn't have some of the songs that appear on the latter 2 I mention (Honky Tonk Women, Salt of the Earth, etc.)

Live Licks (topless version of course!): doesn't feel like a real live album; side one is the usual warhorses, side 2 is the good stuff (Monkey Man, Worried About You). Not my favourite live album...

Shine a Light: I like it, the setlist is great and having seen the video I can mentally revisit the show when I listen to it. Love hearing Far Away Eyes/Little T&A/Some Girls...

------

Paris 2017: I'd love an album combining the 3 shows. (I was at the first 2 shows and still hate myself for not going to the last one!)

If I had to do a Top 5 official live releases, it'd look something like this:
1 Brussels Affair
2 Hampton Coliseum (live 1981)
3 Flashpoint
4 Shine a Light
5 Some Girls Live in Texas 1978

I have just one thing to add to this discussion and to my previous comments in this thread -- the Paris shows, particularly the second one, just brought home to me all the reasons I ever loved the Stones WITH A VENGEANCE. In that way, I agree with the opening post on this thread -- some recent shows were good but not great, but with Paris, they restored my faith. I was not only sated and satisfied, but ecstatic and overwhelmed. I just do not have the words to describe it ...

... yeah plexi I musta been near ya..2nd show brilliant as
ya described but I still give the nudge to 3rd Paris 2017 as one
of theeeee F'n greatest Stones shows I've ever seen ...........Stones were Crash Hot ..

DAMN U ROCKEEE!!! I didn't know u were in Paris!! We could have gotten together, maybe at the Some Girls bar. And I could have spilled another beer on u! R u planning to go to the UK next year? I am.

I was in the pit Keith's side for both the second and third shows. For the third show, I was front row on the rail. Did u c the pics I posted on Facebook? If not, go to [www.facebook.com] and scroll down a ways and u will c them. I guess I should try to post a few here.

Little Queenie was also there near me and said she thought the second show was better than the third.

Did u go to all 3 shows?

The O2 2007 second show had been my all time favourite, but Paris # 2 eclipsed it.

plexi

Saw all 3 Paris shows to and was up front on Keith's side on the rail for the last two - with Plexi for the 3rd. Both were absolutely awesome and rank up in the top of the approximately 75 I have seen. I think the 2nd Paris show wins just because of the wonderful smiles and laughter of the boys!!!!

Having seen all Paris 3 shows, I remember those many moments of laughter of the second show.

It only came halfway of the set, I think when Keith went at the beginning of the catwalk to "call" Mick with his guitar as Mick seemed to have forgotten he should sing the "Oh Yeah" communication with the crowd.

Like if they all knew they blew up for a DVD recording, and said "oh well - tomorrow we'll get another chance to do it well" so they went bananas. But that was SOOOO good - like the pressure was off.

FANTASTIC. It made the 2nd and 3rd show completely different experiences. I hope we'll get to see it filmed professionally

in looking at your pic, how do u know these two cameramen are videographers for a film and not just the guys who do the live action shooting for the video screens?

Also, is the guy on the left taking shots of the audience?

To add to the speculation, I see what looks like a crowd recording microphone between Ronnie's legs. And I don't mean anything funny by this for the record.
