I cannot believe it's three years already.

I really miss his sound. He was a very unique player & I don't think the Stones have been the same without him. A very nice man too!

I met him in Vegas at the MGM casino post show during the Licks tour...drink in hand and a big smile, getting ready to try his luck and roll the dice.

Indeed - he was as much of a member of the band as Ronnie imo - maybe even more so with his signature sax on some of their greatest tunes.

RIP.

Bobby signed a copy of his book for me after a gig with The Suffering Bastards in October 2012 in Columbus, just weeks before he rejoined The Stones for his last tour with them...

Great show that was so varied and an awesome showcase for his talents and body of work both...

I agree that he is missed on stage, it hasn't been quite the same without him!

The last 2 times I met him were in London (Savoy Hotel) and Singapore.....what a wonderful guy. Always took time to stop and chat, sign a piece of paper or whatever, and just have a good laugh.

Weird how two of the New Barbarians died within a day of each other. When I think of those two guys, I'm amazed at how my experience of their music became so increasingly intimate over the years. The first time I saw Mac, he was onstage with the Stones in a football stadium in 1978. The last time I saw him, at a tiny club in 2009, I was literally standing next to him, looking over his shoulder, close enough that I could have reached out and touched the keys on his keyboard. Similar experience with Bobby Keys, from a New Barbarians show in '79, where I was in the last row of the uppermost level at the furthest end of Madison Square Garden, to standing right in front of him, just four feet away, in 2012 at the same club where I had seen Mac three years earlier.
