When I was in Spain in September I did hear some rumours about shows in Australia but if they are going to play multiple shows in the U.K. next year then would they be planning another tour elsewhere in the world,recent history says no.

They won't go all that way for 1 or 2 shows. I tend to think Australia has seen the last of The Rolling Stones. But what do i know?

Well, they played Europe and Australia (and Far East) in 2014, which is quite recent, but yeah, judging from the last 3 years it doesn't look like something they would do again. But as others wrote - what do I know...

Eight shows for just 28 million population (incl. New Zealand) in 2014 is pretty unique worldwide. Germany got five shows in 2014 and 2017 (82 million population). But they always were a very BIG thing in Australia were the single Under The Boardwalk once was number 1 (!). Everything is sold out there immediately and they seem to like to be there. So why not another 6-7 shows after four years? Less shows make no sense probably due to the high costs.

I heard from a friend who was backstage in Europe last month who spoke to chuck and he said Oz is planned for 2018 . So yeah. Fingers crossed

This would be amazing for us folks in NZ and Australia. I would happily make the trip across the dtich to attend 2-3 shows.

Fingers crossed the rumours are true, would love another Australian tour!

Really thought we were in the endgame now. 2018 uk and then just possibly a final swing around the usa. 55 years 1963 to 2018

It's totally possible. I remember in 1995 when they toured people said there was no way they would ever come back to Oz again. Then they came back in 2003 and the story was that the promoter (Paul Dainty) lost lots of money and they would never come back again... but then they came back again in 2006 and again in 2014, so why wouldn't they come back again in 2018.....

Chuck was saying this during the recent tour.

I suppose that, [with suitable breaks between arranged sets of shows on whichever continent,] they will now just carry on touring for as long as they can or want to.

They certainly can't have a lengthy break from touring as they would then be too old to start the engine back up.

So they just need to stay on the bus until the wheels fall off

They stopped for a year before the No Filter dates and it was too long. It took half the tour to shake the rust off IMHO.

And before the No Filter tour, there were only two full shows (Desert Trips), two private shows with only 14 songs being played, the Vegas cancellation, and a shortened-seltist show where Mick was sick (*Vegas 2) .
Between those and the 15 date Ole tour, they had a break 7 month break.
