I DON’T want to spark any more discussion about political views or the pandemic. But the Washington Post has a long story on Eric Clapton’s personality, how he may or may not have changed, and how other musicians view him.

Would someone who subscribes post the Washington Post article? I'd love to read it.

Only time will tell what's the truth. Maybe Eric has reached a point where he's decided to speak out. I'm 58 and I can already appreciate this, however I also believe it falls on deaf ears. Ultimately I believe that humanity is supposed to be this way.

You could be right, but not sure the truth will ever be known even if it's understood and realised, if acknowledgement of a situation or statistic isn't expressed or revealed through a news channel near you then it didn't happen. I'm just a couple years younger than you frankotero and can appreciate what it's like to be past caring what people think, you can only be true to yourself and voice your truth no matter how unpopular or marginalised your views appear through the media. I think many people see things the way Eric does but big tech is masterfully successful in blocking that train of thought from gathering momentum. Like Eric, a lot more people than we might think have a built in bullshit radar, and even if Eric and others have the potentiality to reveal some questionable activities i doubt these reveals will be accepted as reality, reality and truth are seemingly what most people can be manipulated into agreeing on.
So truth lies tangent to the most voiced actualised view point by the majority of us (consensus gentium) that we can agree on.
But that doesn't make it the truth, rather a calculated manipulation of the truth.
Is Clapton right or wrong, is he spouting truth or lies ??
We are not looking at a replay of a soccer team scoring a goal, we can clearly see if a goal is in or out, the subjects Clapton comments on are a standpoint, a point of view, they have no clarity, these are murky, changeable, misleading and ultimately inconclusive subjects at this time, when data is filtered and proseesed by man it's open to distortion as a consequence of our world veiws and financial objectives, conclusions become more akin to our emotions and personal fulfilment rather than facts, believing in everything the government and media tells us is more like having faith in something rather than witnessing a football team scoring a goal.
What posters decide Clapton is or isn't is irrelevant because our opinions are baseless, we cannot know his truth let alone our own.

Using that logic the same thing could be said about anyone (H!tler, the former president, Charles Manson etc. Lets face it this is about right and left (right and wrong IMHO), nothing more and nothing less. If one supports one political side what he says and has done is all OK. With the other it is not.
The same people who are dismissing Clapton's views and behaviors were all over Roger Waters for his views on the Middle East and human rights. They were telling Roger to shut up and keep politics out of his music. Same for Neil Young, David Grohl and many others. Why is it OK for Clapton to spout his views on controversial subjects and giving him a pass when the same isn't true for the others?

Like stopping funding right wing anti-vaxxer groups? I as still planning on attending the RAH shows but when I heard about that and saw him sucking up to Governor Abbott I was done and will not give him any of my money again.
There lies the conundrum .Quote
