Yes, Eric is still up for one off gigs which is good.
His wife, I believe, comes from the area and she and Eric own a house there.

So that's 12 dates so far confirmed for this year.
Not bad for someone who was cutting back on concerts. And has had a number of health issues of late.
And, put out a new album a couple of months ago.

For anyone who wants to see Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall a friend can't make it so it looks like I have an extra for the first two shows at Will Call. Nothing for Day 3 but Day 1 (May 13) is in Arena E Row 11 and Day 2 (May 15) Stall H Row 2. These are face plus fees 195 GBP and are will call pickup.

I am searching for a single ticket to Day 3 (May 16) at the Royal Albert Hall. If anyone has an extra, or knows someone who does, I'd greatly appreciate being connected with them.

In case you don't know....

It is most certainly possible to turn up at the RAH on the morning of a show and queue for a ticket to the gallery. It's part of the RAH's Trust agreement that those tickets can only go on sale on the day. I've done it several times.

Two tales...

They don't only sell gallery tickets, but also returns. Years ago on a now defunct Clapton list there was an account of someone who was near the front of the queue when the box office opened, and the people in front of him declined a return and went for a gallery ticket (fair enough, money matters). This person though thought...why not? So he got the ticket and found out that it was front row, floor level, dead centre. By far the best seat in the house.

And. When the Concert for George (organised by EC) was happening I told someone in the USA about this way to get a ticket, and to my great astonishment she actually flew to the UK to try to get in. To my relief she did, and sent me some unique souvenirs of her adventure.

Last time Clapton played 2 years ago I had tickets but queued up for a friend. They had individual seats in one of the boxes but nothing else. This didn't seem to have Gallery tickets. I was third on line for her. If you are there it makes sense to try of course but not sure I would travel without tix in hand. Luckily I do and due to cancellations offering up a few extras although nothing for night 3.

Great advice, thanks. Will be flying in from New York that morning, so will be hard to queue up for it. Ideally trying to have arranged my ticket before getting into London. Trying everything I can to not have to buy from the touts...

Wanna Make Love To You — most likely the first time since the 1989 European tour.
Running On Faith — most likely the first time since the 2009 Japan tour.
Electric Layla had rarely been played for the last ten years or so — pleasant surprise indeed.

I hate going to Clapton concerts, not because of Clapton, he's amazing. But the audience is ALWAYS seating the whole concert except for the last song. Not much different to watching a DVD

That was played last year at the Greenwich Town Party and Hyde Park gigs. I'll take Pretending since it has been a long while.

Then you should have been in Hyde Park 2018. Most people were standing up.

You're right. Regret not going to Hyde Park. In Cologne some people tried to stand up but security forced them to sit down again.

Greenwich Town Party too. Venue made people stand FOB. I think the issue with Cologne was the venue, not the artist.

Has he ever played a club gig in London before or during his RAH residencies? I had the chance to see Ronnie and Jeff Beck at Ronnie Scott's in November, but I doubt Clapton will play there again.
