Maybe a Winwood/Clapton collaboration/reunion ala Blind Faith will happen.
Also - maybe a Winwood/Santana collaboration as they've done in the past.
And/or.... maybe a jam involving all three of them.
Ultimately, maybe all of the above!

Or Winwood joins Eric onstage like on Crossroad festivals or their joint 2008 tour.

My guess is that Santana and Steve Winwood will join him for the encore. Most of his gigs in the last 15 years that I've seen have had the support artist join him. It happened when he last payed hyde park in '08 (Sheryl Crow, John Mayer and Robert Randolph joined for crossroads). Seems more likely with Carlos and Stevie given their histories togeather.

EC was playing guitar as recently as September - he did a handful of shows in NY and LA.

"Cocaine", LA 9.13 - [www.youtube.com]

3rd night in a row I’ve played this clip as loud as possible.

And 2007 Clapton sitting down w/ 3 guitar greats is as humbling as

Yes that was a great tour (thought I kind of hinted at that above with "collaboration", but evidently I wasn't clear enough).
I saw the last show of the US leg at the Hollywood Bowl 0n June 30, 2009 which is also the last time I've seen Clapton (out of many), and it was a smokin' show. thumbs up
Have seen Steve Winwwod several times since then whenever he comes to town - he's always great.

I had the good fortune of seeing E.C. live tonight during a two hour show and it seems to me that the rumours of his demise are greatly exaggerated ;-) Actually it was a fantastic show !

Love watching Clapton play. he is one of the very few guitarists who I love to watch. His fingers are beautiful to see, and he doesn't do these crazy grimaces - just leans back and rips.
E.g. there is a clip on Tube, and I think they even call it 'best Clapton solo" or some hyperbole; and then there is "Isnt it a Pity" in the 'Concert 4 George" film, where he really brings it.

If he is so fit why does he only play in Hamburg, Cologne and London in summer?

Well, its three more shows than The Stones.
He may well announce some more gigs.
Hyde Park is already sold out.

Because he doesn't have to? Contrast with Doyle Bramhall who had people who didn't know him wowed yesterday and who has a hectic touring schedule in what looks like small clubs.

Yeah I know life isn't fair and he probably made bad choices but it's sorta of sad to see a guy like Bramhall struggling to make ends meet when he's treated like a peer by Clapton and worked with the best.

Yes that was Tuesday night ;-) He looked great and was pretty trim unlike what his appearance at the JPJ benefit seemed to show, guess it was the clothing.

One thing I did notice during the concert and had forgotten about with the excitement is that there was a lot of soloing by Bramhall but also Stainton and Carrack. Great stuff generally by these top notch guys but possibly to take some pressure off of Clapton...

I wonder what he's going to be up to until the end of June.

Fortunately for our successful old heroes (as Palace R 2000 refers)
if they have a future date to prepare
they can hire a coach/ trainer to rattle them off the couch, right?
Guitar practice, gym trainer, chef, etc.
Easier when you have the cash for good help.

Damn, he is lookin old in that pic. He actually looks fine, but in the right light looks extremely frail. Oh well, it happens to everyone. I think its more that it seems so sudden. He should probably be dead multiple times over after what he's done so thankfully he's still out playing in any capacity. If this is it, it should be expected and cherished. He could have left in 1978 and had a career many would kill for. The fact that we had him 40 more years is a gift.

He looked pretty fit actually, quite "mobile" ! I'd seen the excellent "I Still Do" documentary on YT with Glyn Johns where he explained he'd had to wear gloves because of an Eczema attack. No gloves last week but I did notice some red marks on his hands.

The last (and only) time I'd seen him live was in 1990 and he didn't look "good" at the time, very thin and uneasy, felt a bit weird. He was all smiles on Tuesday and that's always nice to see ;-) Talking of smiles :
