Anyone else feel a little bit let down?
Posted by: ycagwywpmd ()

Hi, I'm newish here, apologies if I have broken any etiquette rules by not posting an intro until now. I have read rules re no politics/religion/personal agendas/good manners and conclude that they are stretched a little sometimes. I have never posted on an online forum before, life gets more exciting by the minute doesn't it?

I grew up about 15 miles from Dartford, (you may have heard of it?). I have never been to the train station, but in recent years been to the town several times. Dartford people are really friendly and I love to hear that not-quite-cockney accent that Mick pulled out for the Hyde Park concerts.

My 1st Stones concert was in 1965, which inspired my 'They didn't play Satisfaction' thread. A lifelong Stones fan, I will admit to sometimes feeling a little let down by the band, perhaps somewhat forgotten or overlooked. The couldn't fit us (UK) in the European tour 'because of sporting fixtures', which really means many of our venues are a lot smaller, = less money in the bank. So maybe next year, the end of the queue again.

I'm pleased to be able to login at last and look forward to being inspired to join your conversations

Out of the some 20 jubilee concerts 2012/13, 5 were in the UK. And there may be much more shows in relation to its population size than elsewhere (except US/ Australia) next year.

The 2018 UK Tour will be amazing, the Stones are still a great Rock n ROLL band. Loved the 4 gigs i attended in 2017. What a band, still am grinning from ear to ear when i talk about the gigs.

... and Slipping Away being the newest song. - It's not that I don't like it anymore, but they could make it a lot more interesting if they wanted to. The 2012/13 setlists were really great and even 2015 was far more exciting than the latest "warhorses only" leg.

2 questions here.

1. is the uk 2018 tour going to happen or is it just hearsay.

2. can i be the first to moan about the sterile setlist.

and yes i do feel a little let down, no uk gig since 2013 and no scottish gig since 2006 i think.

Out Of Control was the newest song, followed by YGMR.

Jagger has said they are gonna play the UK next year. This may change because of health issues etc.

And you started moaning already about no this, no that. be happy there are chances they will be ,probably, doing live gigs in the UK next year.

It isn't hearsay, it is going to happen. If you're gonna moan about the setlist, why do you care?

Do you already have the UK setlists?! Anyway, all three mentioned "new" songs are at least 21 years old next year and horrible, but they work.

It isn't hearsay, it is going to happen. If you're gonna moan about the setlist, why do you care?

If you're gonna moan about the setlist, sooner or later you need an actual setlist to moan about.

Feel like moaning about the setlist? Try the proper thread.

Miss May should be happy having The Rolling Stones over in 2018. Many mainland Europe fans will flood the U.K. to boost the economy a bit before, like Mick put it into words, "England Lost" ...
Nevertheless, I will continue to love British Stones fans. They were at the cradle when the band was born and helped them GROW! Thanks for that smileys with beer !

Too late. The tour isn't for eons and we already know what they're gonna play and people have already moaned about it. Just because they know - the newest song will be from 1981 unless Keith does Slipping Away. Etc.

The recent tour name - it didn't really mean anything, did it. No Filter... of our greatest hits. Woo hoo - they played Dancing With Mr D and the odd other track here or there but... it's been the same since (enter whatever year here).
