John Mayall Tour of England
Date: November 6, 2017 18:41

I was wondering whether anyone here has seen John Mayall live during this tour? Any experiences to share? He's playing here in Oxford in a couple of days. Thank you.

Saw John last year I believe in OLYMPIA - Paris. Wonderful show if you like great guitar music (and his keyboards). I have enjoyed every second.

was there too, sweet moment
too bad it was just a power trio and John playing keys, guitar and harp)
bass and drums a little corny for my taste
it was in march 2017

Incredible that he's still out there giving it his best. Saw him at the Paradiso in Amsterdam in '04, and at the Roxy in L.A. for the Bluesbreakers reunion back in '82.

Here's a 30 minute clip from the Haarlem show back in March.

Sorry, I checked and I was there in 2015 (time flies), where he was joined by an extremely talented Les Paul player (forgot his name though). Great energy as you can see in

Saw John M. here in the Massachusetts at a small tavern, Bull Run, this past year and he still puts on a great show. He was gracious enough to sign the cover of my British pressings of Live at Klook's Kleek and Beano vinyl albums.

A real gentleman.

Yes, when people obsess about 'The Stones last tour' etc they ought to give a thought to Mr Mayall.
In the best tradition of the old blues masters...in his 80's and still going strong.

Have seen him in Germany some month ago.
Was a great show, with some old songs and some new ones...
Amazing, how much energy he radiated...

My dad saw him a few months ago and said he was great. He's no gigantic fan of him or anything, but knows his music and that he's a legend and thought if he's still out there he should go. Said he wasn't disappointed at all. Didn't say anything about it being "sad" or "slow" or anything you might get from someone still out there at 80.

I saw him last year and he was great - both he and his band! Go see him if you
have a chance.
