I really like Fast Talking, as well as the first 30 seconds/first minute or so of LITHOL and Criss Cross Mind. The latter two get boring after a while, imo, but I really like the sound of them.

Separately is another good one.

Are we sure it's Taylor on slide here, btw? I don't hear the vibrato.

Could very well be Richards on lead (like Leather Jacket) and Taylor on acoustic and bass. I'll have to listen on headphones or something other than my phone and see if there's another electric. Maybe revisit the version from Stones Throw deluxe.

On a side note, there is a slide technique or style Taylor implements that is very much different than his work on live versions of Brown Sugar and Love In Vain. If you've ever listened to Going To Mexico that is a perfect example.

Good point about the slide technique - I know what you mean.

Keith has a tendency to end a phrasing with little or no sustain when playing slide. It sounds a bit like that here, too, but I'm not sure.

You could be right about Taylor on the two acoustics: listen to the version on "a Stone's throw", and the song "Morning Story", the intro with Jack Bruce. It has that Taylor-esque 8/8 feel. As for the slide: it is played very precise like Taylor tends todo, but without vibrato... Richards is in the middle playing the electric defining the main theme along with the great piano I guess.. But then again, a perfect example where Taylor meets Richards on common ground. Just a beautiful instrumental theme. The Stones should have explored this kind of stuff much more..

Can someone post a link to "English Rose". I can't find it on youtube. I have most of the other boots mentioned but haven't heard this one. Thanks!

It's on VGP-027 [www.iorr.org]
though like most tracks on this boot it runs at the wrong speed (too fast).
