Well, from a purely financial point of view, you are of course correct. I guess there's something a little wrong with me feeling a little sorry for MJ since I live from paycheck to paycheck pretty much and he is forever without a financial concern living a life of luxury. If that's all there is.

Give me a break. There is no need to feel sorry for these women. They know what they are doing. They are like escort girls for the rich and famous. But of course, even an escort girl can feel sad at times. Like the rest of us.

I wonder why people live with the assumption that money makes people happy.

Some of the happiest people i ever meet work on the checkouts at the store and travel home on buses.

I look at some of these driven millionaires, i always get the impression no amount of money is ever enough, and no amount of women is ever enough.

You are right, Stone4ever. Happiness is something else. What money does is relieve you from the everyday struggle. Gives you freedom. But not necessarily happiness.

Yeah money definitely helps to give us freedom.
Sometimes too much money gets people into doing and trying things they might never have done. It gives people the opportunity to get themselves in all sorts of trouble.

I think Mick and Keith might have had an easier ride through life without the money and fame, they worked it all out for themselves in the end, but say Keith for instance, its a miracle he made it past the age of 33. The money and fame could have been fatal to Keith, and when i look at the very young Jagger, i think he lost something along the way, we all lose our innocence but Mick seems to have lost something more. Life lessons from greedy managers promoters etc have made it necessary for Mick to harden up and develop this protective shell, his desire to control situations in his personal and professional life and mistrust of media might have come from some bad personal and professional experiences he has had in the past.

These relationships with much younger women probably stem from situations regarding women that normal people would never experience.
You and i don't know what its like to have women throw themselves at our feet because of our fame and fortune.. My marriage for instance doesn't have to deal with that threat. Its hard for people like Mick to say no, they are men after all. I think sometimes when we condemn Rock stars for being with such a young women, we forget to ask ourselves what we would do in the same situation.
What i mean is it must be harder for someone like Mick to stay loyal to one woman for keeps with so much temptation around him..

OK, time to take stock.

Just looking at the "Posts" and "Views" totals for pages 1 and 2 here.

This gossipy thread has nearly 20k views and 364 posts in a week, but the recent tour threads that have popped up here in recent days and weeks have just a few hundred or a couple thousand views and only just a few posts each compared to this.

Just an observation. The numbers are there for all to see.

I mean, the "Track Talk" threads combined currently on page 1 couldn't hold a candle to this one, could they?

What do we really want to talk about? Seems maybe the music might be secondary, and a distant second place at that.

Another observation:
If the private lives of Mick, Ronnie and Keith had been like Charlies...would the band still have the same interest? Certainly not to the tabloids.
I'm not saying Mick is as cynical as this, but he is tabloid fodder and it keeps him and the band in the public domain.
He doesn't seem to have to do any hard PR does he?

We can only speculate on how 'content/happy' Mick is with his lot....Bill used to say he wasn't ..hence the constant need to be on the move.
As another forum member has stated money doesn't buy happiness..a new bio on Sinatra, written by his last Manager confirms that theory. All the fame, money, adulation...but on anti depressants for the latter part of his life.

If Mick was a well known Painter, living in the South of France, I don't think it would be of interest to the media...why pop stars are treated any differently I don't know.
